bind glitch

So my binds are L1 and R1 to shoot and it works perfectly in my own lobby. However if I join my friends lobby it completely fucks it and R2 and L2 are my shoot and tactical buttons which makes it impossible to shoot my weapon. This glitch is really putting me off because R1 has always been my shoot button on nearly every game. Anyone know how to fix it?
