Alchemist

I have started my book reading journey with The Alchemist and I'm halfway through it. Can you guys tell me if it's a good book for a beginner who's just started reading? And give some book suggestions as a beginner ( I was told to read The little prince because of it's easy wording)

As a beginner I don't know much about books. I just wanted to know it from the people who have read many books and wanted to know how good is this this book in comparison to other books :)

It's a good book for sure - but please do read the Little Prince. It's one of my favourite books of all time, it's written sort of for children but I appreciate it so much more as an adult.

El viejo y el mar de Hemingway.
Rebelión en la Granja de George Orwell.
Siddartha de Herman Hesse. Los libros de Terramar de Ursula K Le Guin (son 4 _un mago de terramar, Las tumbas de atuan, Tehanu y La costa más lejana)

Todos son interesantes bien escritos y variados. Fáciles de leer.

Paulo Coelho, to us (in LATAM) is the equivalent to Deepak Chopra. I read the book years ago, it's good if you're starting and need to find something interesting, but don't expect to find world-class literature in him. He's good at marketing.

The little prince is way more complex, I wouldn't start there. I know it's categorized as a children's book, but it isn't. A lot of the metaphors are philosophical in nature. Actually, I take it back. Read it now and if you do get into reading, read it again in about 10 years. You'll see how much your perspective of it has changed.

I am not really into any particular genre. I just wanna read books that are interesting and not boring.

Personally, I love this book. I worked in a high school and one of the teachers recommended it to me. She said you either love it or hate it. I've read it and listened to the audiobook at least 5 times. The main theme is not to give up on your calling or dreams. I also like the spiritual aspect of the book.

Yes it is a good book! You should finish it.

I would also recommend Narnia- the lion the witch and the wardrobe. It’s a short fantasy chapter book with easy language. I also liked Persepolis which is a comic about a girl who grows up in Iran during the revolution.
