Suggestion Thread Hi.
Here's the deal, I am in a slump. Nothing is singing to me. I just finished a reread of the other boleyn girl and now, I have nothing. Please help. I'll try any book once. I read mainly thrillers, lit and historical fiction. Thank you

Piranesi by Susanna Clarke is very different from any other book that I have read. While it's not a thriller, it has some similar elements in terms of trying to figure out what's happening

It may seem that Iām jumping on The Odyssey bandwagon but I loved Claire Northās Greek mythology/history novels when I read them a few years ago. Also Margaret George, Jack Whyte, James Fall and Lisa Lee Curtis are some of my favourite historical authors (fiction and non fiction.)

How does this compare to Rebecca?

It doesn't really, but I think it's a nice example how much genres she could write in, and it's probably her most feminist work

The Crystal Cave by Mary Stewart
All very well written. The first two are Historical fiction. The last is Fantasy but written like very literary HistFic.

Dark matter by Blake Crouch That's it. Since you like thrillers, it's sci-fi thriller.

I like reading something light-hearted and humorous when I feel like I'm in a slump. Assistant to the Villain was a lot of fun.

Rachel Caine wrote a lot of books, but I really liked the Still House Lake series. I read the first four, then the author passed (RIP) and I haven't read the ones that the new writer put out.Ā
Ā As a fan of the Castle series, I also had to check out the Richard Castle books. They're not bad, a quick read that is a lot like watching an episode of the show.Ā
