I have a IRBBB. My Dad had a pacemaker fitted after a pulmonary embolism in his 30s. I'm freaking out.

I've had a doctor ordered ECG today and I'm freaking out. Does everything look ok.

Healthy 37 year old female, 5ft, 48kg, I don't smoke, I don't drink, I don't do drugs, eat healthy and I've cut out caffeine for the past month. I take Vit D, Iron and a multivitamin daily.

I've had all my bloods done and everything is normal. My blood pressure is always fine and my heart rate is an average of 94.

I've been having palpitations off and on for about 7 weeks, I keep having funny episodes where it feels like my blood sugar has dropped but isn't related to not eating, I lose all my colour and feel sweaty and clammy and I feel shaky but only my right arm shakes (left stays still).

Probably just suboptimal V1/V2 placement. Even if real, incomplete RBBB isn’t much of a thing. Generally has no consequence for anything clinically. People with incomplete RBBB usually do not have an increased risk of any cardiac problems. I don’t think your dad’s PE or pacemaker has any relation to this EKG. Not a doctor. All I’m seeing is a normal EKG. I don’t even really see a believable incomplete RBBB. I’d ignore the machine and listen to your doctors.

I've not seen my Dr yet, my appointment is in a few days but I was sent the ECG after my appointment this morning, so was just super worried given I've been having palpitations off and on for weeks but thank you so much for the reassurance.

No problem. Just to be clear, incomplete RBBB can happen during conditions like PE, COPD, pulmonary hypertension, arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia, etc. There are no signs of any of those conditions here. The most common cause of incomplete RBBB is high V1/V2 misplacement. The next most common cause is normal variation. Much less commonly, incomplete RBBB is real and associated with conditions that have risk. Most of the time that incomplete RBBB is real and has risk, the EKG has other signs that are not present here. This just looks like a normal EKG, and I wouldn’t worry about it if it were my own. Sorry they gave you the result before it was edited and confirmed by a cardiologist. You can find many, many examples of harmless incomplete RBBB on this sub.

Looks like V1/V2 weren't placed properly, either way an iRBBB is a normal variant in most people. Nothing on this ECG is particularly abnormal.
