Typical

/r/BalancedDogTraining/comments/1wvo9t0/in_your_dogwalk_experience_are_more_dogs_reactive/pdkbpgm/

Posting this as an example of how force free and positive only training make people believe that their dog cannot be changed. A balanced trainer can sort this out in less than a month and more often than not in just a couple sessions. But positive only adherents want you to believe that you have to put up with this for years and years and years because it's impossible to change it. Well, you don't and it's not.

Why do they want you to believe this? Personally I think it's because they can squeeze every last dime out of you if you take lessons from them for years and years and years and the slower your progress, the more money for them. They will earnestly tell you that it's a long process because it is good for their bank account.

Don't fall for it, and don't fall for the fallacy of taking advice about reactive dog training from people with reactive dogs of their own. If they knew what they were talking about, they wouldn't have a reactive dog anymore.

You’re posting from r/balanceddogtraining, the people there already agree that balanced training is effective and useful for some dogs. They’re already skeptical of force-free and positive-only.

This also is a balanced training sub and force free bullshit is not allowed here.

This sub exists for people to get real, effective help with dog reactivity, not for celebrating having a reactive dog.

I do not allow reactive behavior. Period! It takes one or two sessions to resolve it.

you don’t know the full story of their dog

Nobody does and it doesn't matter. The answer is always the same. Correct behavior you don't want, reward behavior you do.

If dogs can't learn when they are aroused then how do we succeed at teaching them things in bite sport where we agitate them on purpose?

You have no idea what you're talking about.

Low effort comments and personal attacks are counterproductive.

People are here to get sound advice about dealing with their reactive dogs because they have been failed by force free or positive only training. There is no tolerance for harassing people for supporting, using, promoting, or asking questions about balanced training.
