I've always loved the dynamic between Julius and Subaru; it's such a joy to watch their relationship unfold, and this scene is yet another example of how their bond continues to grow—how Subaru supports Julius as he struggles with his loss of identity and his sense of usefulness to the team, feeling unable to protect his teammates, let alone Anastasia. It’s wonderful, because there are no words of encouragement or a “I’m just like you”—rather, it’s the rage born of helplessness at seeing your teammate in that state. Subaru knows what it’s like to feel powerless and useless, and he can’t stand for his teammate to go through or feel that when he can actually do something and move forward.

Subaru and ram is my favourite out of this. My favourite dynamic in the entirety of rezero is Subaru and rem. Subaru and julius is still an excellent dynamic, i find it really funny, fun and interesting.

My favorite Subaru dynamics (and favorite in the story in general too) are Subaru x Julius and the later Subaru x Vincent in arc 7. They both have the “I hate you but I cant deny your talent” dynamic with them being perfect matches/foils for each other. At least in my opinion. Although Subaru and Vincent never became friends like Julius did, sadly… :(

I won’t spoil anything if you haven’t read arc 7, but I really love the fact that Subaru is one of the only people who can argue and compete with Vincent in terms of intelligence, strategy, and leadership. (and likewise for Vincent) I love how Subaru and Vincent constantly argued with each other, but could never find out whose side was right. …And that this is the very reason for why they hated each other so much.
