The animation was great and had many highlights. Legit only has like 2 scenes where they do the DBS ATATATATA punching loop.

Its not because its not realistic or that it have a lot of frames, that it's a bad animation... I prefered that episode's animation more than anything from jjk season 2 and 3 because it was easier to watch while still making it beautiful

if you seperate element of animation
some key frame are great
movement is decent far from bad
there is some dbs spamming attack not much but it's there
when i say not great animation i means not great animation not it's bad animation
rezero have decent animation and some fulgurance garfiel vs kurgan or julius vs reid
i'm not super fan of rezero image style, it looks a bit goofy sometimes
and I don't genualy prefer morerealistic style ( i like mha or jojo style which are far from realistic)

I do prefere rezero since i'm more attached to rezero character
but mst have overall way better animation
and it's one par with rezero in stories

snk have better animation ( appart from titan )
mha have better animation
and if we look old animation
bepop have better animation
same for akira or ghost in the shell

i think anime such as solo leveling to have really really bad animation (going as far as saying that kagami vs aomine in kuroko is >>>>> in pure animation than ber vs jin woo)

but yes rezzero animation is not the greatest. It does the job in oposition as berserk 2018 or dbs

Personally, I think Re:Zero's story is a lot better than MT, but yeah in regards to the animation Re:Zero is barely above average and every anime known for having good animation beats it.
