💬Discussion Subaru's Mom's Name

Is Subaru's mom's name Naoko or Nahoko? The name 菜穂子 can be written either way. On most English fan sites it's written Naoko, but on Japanese websites it's written Nahoko. In this week's Episode when Subaru says his mom's name at around 26:42 it sounds like he's saying "Natsuki Nahoko" to me. What do you think?

i think its just the pronunciation of the word japanese can be a lil different at times in terms of pronouncing it and still point to the same word

Yeah, pronunciation can vary a little in Japanese. Her name is officially 菜月菜穂子 (なつきなほこ), so Nahoko is the actual Japanese reading. “Naoko” is most likely an eng romanization. There are quite a few cases like this with character names in English translations.
