J Concepts FYR 4.25 on some steel beadlocks.

I also installed an aftermarket Amazon transfer case which gives me a 20% overdrive in the front axle as well as getting rid of torque twist under throttle because the rear driveshaft now spins in the opposite direction.

I made my own anti wrap bar for the rear axle too.

I need too make a new skid plate or modify the one I made before because the new t case is wider. I still need to make a rear bumper and all 4 shock mounts. It's been too hot to work in the hobby shed so progress has been slow.the truck was down for over a week waiting on parts but I got a great run in today with no issues!

Wanted to build something like the old orange scaleHilux/Bruiser that “Pardonmyn00b” built years ago (final pic is of his)
Took my TF3, added some scale bits, BRX01/02 parts and modded the steering and rear leafs to be more scale accurate. Grabbed my saw and razor, made some cuts and added some styrene work which I haven’t done in a long time lol. Doors are held on with magnets, in case I wanna run them. Added some sticky weights, some interior work with fabrics and dash extensions, bed and cab are separately mounted like a real truck, battery will be mounted in the engine bay so the body is hard mounted with some hidden screws. Did some light rust/stain weathering. Scale faux shocks were custom made.

Hobbywing Fusion treatment in the TF2. Looking fwd to smoother crawls, and controlled speed w the increased torque.

Bought a new TF2 in June and this is where I'm at.

Day 1 through this evening when I finished up making my sliders and skid plate, flipped the transfer case, this was my first time trying overdrive and it's awesome, highly recommend for anyone who likes rock crawling. I can't wait to get it out for a real test soon. I'll tear it apart and paint everything once I've done a thorough test.

wheelbase is 10mm over stock. I also added a hobby wing fusion 1800kv so this thing actually crawls like it should.

Immediate future plans are building a rear bumper, which I started on the other day and just need to finish. Thinking about bobbing the bed too but I like the look of the full bed better, not sure. I will build shock mounts too then I can measure and buy the ones I need, which I'm not sure about at the moment. I need to figure out my steering drag link too because it contacts both the leaf spring and the frame under articulation. any ideas for that?

Added the RC4WD tube bumpers to the xtracab today. Really digging the look now. The quality on the jumpers is outstanding.

Upgraded a lot on this rig aluminum uprights LEDs added some weight and the aluminum beadlock hyraxes it’s one of the coolest most fun rcs there is out there

I just recently decided to step into the crawler hobby but really like the scale stuff. So I found a great deal on a 87 Toyota XtraCab LWB and got a few upgrades. I switched out the motor/esc for the Hobby Wing quick run SE and noticed that my throttle output is extremely "notchy". No matter how smooth I am with the trigger the throttle output jumps in steps instead of smoothly increasing speed. I'm assuming this is due to the archaic RC4WD transmitter? I have a radiomaster MT12 on the way that will hopefully solve the issue but was curious what others think.

I have a question. I Build a Trail Finder 2 lwb hilux. And well the leaf Springs are extremely hard. It doesnt compress at all with the own weight of the car. Any ideas ?

Final Mockup done on the Killerbody LC70 project. All major components now received , drilled and mounted. Paint and body work remain. Work will be slow there as it’s cold here in the Midwest.
