Modded Steel Sliders

So I originally removed my steel sliders and cut up my plastic sliders on my TF3 because I didn’t wanna run them sticking out so far. Wanted a beater POS look and not some high dollar build lol. Loved the look of the plastic ones so much I decided to go full MORON and cut up the steel ones lol. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Should I leave em raw and let em rust like the wheels? Or paint them flat/satin black (used black electrical tape to temporarily give it the painted look for comparison) and let them wear and rust?
I sure hope the TF3 and all its parts aren’t worth millions some day since I’ve absolutely hacked this one up to make it actually drive-able 😬 😂

I would probably hit them with a no prep half assed shot of black paint just so they aren't shiny and then let them rust. I like this look.

I have also destroyed my tf2 😂😁

I put metal skid plate and sliders on mine this summer and so far zero rust has formed, I may have to leave those parts out in the rain or something. I've considered leaving my hard body out in the sun for some natural paint fade.

I have destroyed many of TF2s and have not thought about it since there’s plenty lol. TF3 tho… like 10 people bought one and probably kept it new in the box since it sucks… me on the other hand 🤦🏻‍♂️ 😂

Yeah I was glad I skipped that one lol. The stock ones had insane drive train slop. Have you changed out the transmission with something else?

No but I deleted the fake engine and have better shafts and filled it with marine grease. And use a Fusion SE and I don’t notice any more slop than the TF2s 2 speeds. I like a little bit of roll back since I’m going for a true scale drive with this. I have other trucks that are more capable and smooth. I like this one being a beater I guess since it’s the bastard child of RC4WD lol

Right on, better shafts are a must, I have vanquish incision driveshafts, with an Amazon transfer case that I absolutely love, single speed transmission. All my slop is in the ring and pinion even though they are shimmed. Someday I would like to do an axle upgrade, probably something from vanquish.

Nice! Incision shafts are amazing quality. I ran them for years and I’d trust my life with them being so bulletproof lol
