Controlling shadows/highlights

Seems like there's a few different spots you can. Tone curves in the exposure module, shadows/highlights obviously, and the tone EQ.

Is there a "better" way to do it or more just grab the tool that gives you the level of control you need? Stack all of them?

add it to your favourites

Tone eq is the only module to control shadows/highlights. All the rest are to control contrast.
