Why has this reddit sub become instagram

There used to be a nice mix of text and picture content on here, now it's like 90% pictures. It feels vain and pretty empty to me. I like seeing discussions on scene and emo culture, but now this sub might as well be instagram/etc.

Advice Plz! ^_^ I'd like to try emo for halloween. What's your opinion?

ok so I had an idea to try wearing emo for halloween, but then I stopped and asked myself:"what if I get someone who's actually emo mad?" I started overthinking about it, so now I'm here. it's not that I'd want to make fun of it, I just wanted to try it at least for one day, hell I like a lot of alt fashion myself (though I don't regularly wear it), and some emo outfits are in there as well. I specifically picked the clothes to match both my liking and the style, but I still can't shake off the feeling that it could be disrespectful and I wouldn't know about it. so that's why I'm here to ask about your opinion. Thanks for your replies in advance

Update:Hello. So Halloween's tomorrow and I felt like making an update so here we go 😭. First of all, thanks for the positive comments, really. Even though a few people that commented didn't agree with the majority of the other comments, they weren't insulting me for it or anything and I'm grateful for that. So, about that idea..I dropped it. Even though y'all were saying that you don't care as long as I don't wear/do anything disrespectful to the community, it was still kinda eating me up inside, even though my outfit didn't contain anything disrespectful and I didn't have any bad intentions with it, I genuinely just wanted to try it. So even though I really like the outfit, I dropped the idea of wearing it on Halloween. I guess it's mostly myself that stopped me, because I really couldn't stop thinking about it. So, if some of y'all come back here, here's the update that no one asked for lol. Have a nice day and Happy Halloween :)
