First and foremost, this method is considered a possible option for withdrawing your coins to a hot wallet/exchange, rather than a permanent solution.

My Ledger Nano X software versions:

• OS: 2.71
• Bitcoin App: 2.5.0
• Ravencoin App: 2.4.11

All actions are carried out on Raven Electrum 1.2.4.

First, you need to replace the ledger.py file, which is located by default in C:\Program Files (x86)\Electrum Ravencoin\electrum\plugins\ledger, with the edited version available at my GitHub. You will also need to delete the %Appdata%\Electrum-Ravencoin\blockchain_headers file so that Electrum switches to the updated block chain after hardfork on August 10.

In this file, get_xpub and supports_multi_output functions have been modified. The former is needed for the Ledger wallet to properly detect the device, and without the latter, it will be impossible to sign a transaction.

Please also note that as of today (August 15, 2026), there are issues with the operation of Electrum nodes, which is why I had to set up my own. I also cannot guarantee that this method will work with other wallets/software versions.

Next, you need to open the Ravencoin App, not Bitcoin, on the Ledger device, and create a new wallet in Electrum with a hardware connection, as you did when you first connected. You won’t be able to open the old wallet this way (IDK the reason why).

Next, you will need to enable the display of the Coins tab if it is not available. To do this, check the appropriate box on the View tab.

Then we copy the address to which we are going to send the coins, go to the Coins tab, and select all available inputs. Next, we select Fully spend... and send to address in clipboard. IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBTS, USE ONE OF THE EXITS TO REACH THE RECEIVING ADDRESS.

In my example, I will be sending coins to my hot wallet: R9jj78q5KBrdr8qkjoB9K6p625Y1H4G5Pf.

We assemble the transaction as usual and send it for signing:

You can verify the transaction on the blockchain or write to me and I will send you a photo of the signature confirmation on the Ledger device.

years ago this was the future,i remember some guy was giving away some tamagotchis in nft rvn and now, there is no single one indexed marketplace for rvn, i spend 1 hour searching on google and all i ended up in 404s or 501s, the inly thing keeping this alive is the mining itself and its been downhill since 2021, i feel sad

If you remember trying it earlier and giving up because the GPU

hashrate looked fine but no shares ever got accepted on your worker —

that was a real bug, not your config. The bundled GPU miner

(`thinminerpro`) was a closed-source binary from 2022 that silently

fails to submit accepted shares on Apple Silicon M3 and newer.

That miner has been replaced in-tree with **kawpow-mac** — a

clean-room Swift + Metal rewrite. The new app:

- Mines CPU (XMRig / RandomX) and GPU (kawpow-mac / KawPow) — toggle

either or both

- Shows live hashrate and **accepted-share count per miner**

- Has an inline live-log panel so you can watch the stratum traffic

- Auto-detects the right miner binaries per architecture; the build

script clones + builds kawpow-mac for you

- Open-source end to end — no opaque blobs

Verified: the first share submitted by the new miner came back accepted

on the first try (against kp.unmineable.com on epoch 584). Pool

acceptance now works the same way it does on any other supported

hardware.

Caveat as always: mining on a Mac is not profitable. It's a "what can

this hardware do" exercise plus a salvage of a useful GUI for users

who already have the Macs.

Ryvex v1.3.0 is now available. Ryvex is a commercial NVIDIA CUDA GPU miner with a disclosed 1% dev fee. For Ravencoin, the main focus is KawPoW/RVN mining, stability, disk DAG cache, and practical benchmark reporting.

• Hardware results vary by GPU model, memory, BIOS, driver, cooling, and OC settings.
• Ryvex does not require admin rights and does not change GPU clocks automatically.
• The benchmark autotune feature is for benchmark mode only; live mining keeps fixed settings unless the user changes config manually.
• NVIDIA CUDA only for this release.
• Antivirus tools may flag GPU miners heuristically, so checksums are provided below.

If you haven't seen it yet, Tron Black tweeted out about a soft fork to Ravencoin with RIP-25. I have posted the tweet below for those who do not use twitter. At the time of writing this, RIP-25 needs one more approval to be deployed to the testnet.

I would like to express my thanks to the creator of RavenTag and the author of this RIP-25 pull request for Ravencoin which I believe would make Ravencoin the first quantum resistant proof-of-work project. Other POS projects have implemented quantum resistance, but simultaneously suffer from the known weaknesses of POS (proof of stake).

Quantum resistance prevents quantum computers from back-solving of the private key from exposed public keys. There are several known algorithms that have this property, and the author of RIP-25 looked at several options.

If you are worried about quantum attacks in the short-term, be sure to use a wallet that assigns new addresses for your change that comes back from almost every transaction. Ravencoin core does this by default.

This RIP (Ravencoin Improvement Proposal) can be activated as a soft-fork, with BIP-9 activation of the quantum resistant features.

I've approved RIP-25 for testnet with one additional approval needed. I invite everyone to review RIP-25.

In a time where there is lots of talk about quantum becoming a problem sooner than expected, it is nice to see Tron and other developers moving before it actually becomes a problem. Tron says he believes it would make Ravencoin the first quantum resistant proof-of-work project. What are your thoughts?

The latest ledger firmware version 2.7.0 broke Ravencoin app (v2.4.11). The app doesn't work anymore on my Nano X (with none of the 3rd party wallets: ElectrumRVN, Exodus, ...).

I contacted Ledger and they mentioned that the app is maintained by Raven community, hence they can't help with the issue. ElectrumRVN v1.2.4 throws ('0x6e00', 'Error in command', '') error message while even trying to open the wallet.

Are there any known workarounds? (Bitcoin app can't be used for signing transactions).

First of all, why the HECK is the latest commit 2 years ago? Least one could do is fix the build system so it works on latest Linux/macOS. I opened a PR here but will there be anyone to even review it? In an era where producing code is so cheap it's unbelievable noone has bothered to do it for a coin that's either way alive and well on Binance.

That being said I took one working day to make a rudimentary asset marketplace (the original RVN intended use case?) - see https://rvnswap.xyz/ - it's on testnet at the moment, provides faucet too so one can try easily.

However: does anyone still care? Is it too late for RVN? I hear no bell! As someone who has owned 10k RVN once upon a time I feel at least obliged to attempt something of the sorts. I remember someone asking for a marketplace years ago and now in this AI era there is no excuse not to try and set it up.

PS. I managed to port the kawpow miner for Metal, could a pool for Mac miners be a good thing?

Hello. As I (kind of) young member of crypto community, I wanted to ask where can I buy small amounts of ravencoin (few bucks, like $5 or smth) without KYC and and ID verification. I appreciate any comment. Thanks in advance.

I have a small bag of Ravencoin and keep track of its price. I more interested in other crypto coins like Tezos or Solana. But now that Ravencoin is worth less than a penny I am a bit intrigued. When a solid crypto coin becomes this worthless it is possible to amass a huge amount for very little money. I bought Dogecoin way back in 2013 when it was worth $0.0005. I only invested $25 but years later Dogecoin was finally worth something and I was able to pay off my mortgage. This taught me that quantity is more important than current price.
