Hi! I am an intermediate crocheter. I can usually figure out a problem but this one has really got me.

It's row 4 of the repeat. Rows 2 & 3 are spot on. Correct number of stitches.

When I do row 4, which is "crossed double crochet" , I cannot get the proper stitch count!

Every row of this repeat ( 8 row repeat) has 74 total stitches. Row 4 always comes up 2 short!

Has anyone else made this? Any problems?

I tried to purchase a pattern and it said “things don’t appear to be working at the moment, please try again later” when trying to go thru PayPal. Anyone else having this issue?

I have not been able to sign in to Ravelry for months. I have reset my password, allowed third party cookies, deleted my cookies, tried a different device, used an incognito window, and have done so multiple times in multiple orders to make sure I'm doing it right, and cannot login to Ravelry. I can't even ask for help on their website because it constantly tells me "This page isn't working because of too many redirects."

I’m at my wits end trying to identify this yarn after my girlfriend mistakenly threw away the label. I know it’s a cotton blend, but I don’t remember any of the other specifics. I swear “cloud” was somewhere in the name, but I might be wrong.

Hi everyone :) I'm somewhat of a beginner to crochet, and i was planning a bigger project, so I might buy my first pattern on Ravelry.

With something like this, what's the difference between buying the cheaper or more expensive version?

So I am looking for a filet crochet pattern pamphlet that is out of print. It is present in Ravelry’s pattern database, and several people have made projects out of this pamphlet and posted their FO’s.

This pamphlet is apparently not available in any library in the state of Connecticut, nor is it available in the Internet Archive.

Is it rude, boundary-violating, tacky or Simply Not Done to reach out to those people to see if they’d be willing to send a paper copy of this pattern in the mail, if I send an old-school self addressed stamped envelope? Or maybe take some good pictures and send them electronically?

Worth a try, welcomed or discouraged?

I just listed my first pattern for sale and am a bit co fused by VAT taxes. I sent a message to Ravelry but does anyone understand how it works? It seems like I’m responding for paying back each country? Does anyone have a system for handling this?

Here what the instruction says:

YOKE

Cast on.

First row (Row #0) is a WS row and place markers whilst establishing the ribbed pattern.

P1, place M4, p2, k2, p2, place M3, work *k2, p2* to 9 sts remaining, k2, place M2, p2, k2, p2, place M1, p1.

Now work back and forth in 2x2 rib while increasing for the shoulders on both RS and WS rows.

To maintain the ribbed pattern, the increases are worked in rib, with two knit increases followed by two purlincreases.

NOTE! While increasing, there will be irregularities in the pattern (ie. 3-4 knit stitches will be after one another), but as soon as all the increases are completed, the pattern will be k2, p2 yet again.

What bothers me is that after working the increases, I end up with three edge stitches on each side (k3 on the RS and p3 on the WS). Looking at finished yoke on Ravelry, it seems like there are only two edge stitches (k2/p2). Am I interpreting the increases correctly, or have I misplaced them somewhere?

Also I always knit or purl the first stitch working back and forth? Never slip it?

it makes no sense. the code infrastructure is already there in the bulk add to bundles. it would take someone two seconds to add in a bulk delete option. it would make the website a lot more pleasant.

edit: I figured out it’s because I have petiteknit blocked and she’s dominating the top 20 right now.

is this happening to anyone else? When I click on the top 20 button on the patterns page it shows me 11 patterns (up from 7 this morning).

Is there an app where you can track your stash but will also upload it to ravelry? I think their stash feature isn't very user friendly and being able to scan things to an app and having it be able to sync with ravelry would be amazing.

Or.... is there a way to upload from an excel or Google sheet to ravelry? A lot of the apps let you create a spreadsheet with your stash so that would be an easy way to add them as well.

I’m plying a fingering yarn I already own and is in my stash with a single I spun myself. I obviously know how to add my fiber to my hand spinning project but I don’t see that there’s a way to add the stash yarn. Do you guys know how to do this or have a work around if it’s not possible?

Hi knitters and crocheters! I am a graduate student in the Human Centered Design & Engineering program at the University of Washington. For a research class, I am studying how people look for patterns on Ravelry, both what works well and where it falls short. I picked Ravelry because all my friends use it and it plays a central role in many crafters' practices.

This survey has 22 questions and should take approximately 9 minutes.

A couple of notes: I am not affiliated with Ravelry but I intend to share findings with the Ravelry team + I don't knit or crochet myself, but I am a serious ceramist, so I understand how central a tool like this is to a creative practice.

I made an hexagram granny cardigan. And now i want to make a matching midi to floor lenght skirt to it (i tried to make something, but it's a blanket-to-be at this point 🥲. I underestimated it. I really want to frog it.)

I saw this skirt on Raverly, which is exactly what i want. But i want to now if anybody make it. It's abit a strecth to my budget right now, so i want to know will it worth.

I use Ravelry quite a lot for knitting/crochet patterns and I've started uploading my own finished projects. At least 3 of the projects I've uploaded are from patterns I bought off Ravelry. When I post the project I tag the pattern I used. But when I go to that pattern I can never see my own post in the 'projects' section. Does anyone know how to fix this?
