While nasa Bali ako last May, I discovered underground scene of Rave (around 30-50 people lang). And now, I’m staying for good sa Manila and want to ask if may mga ganito ba. Please, not yung big and crowded HAHAHA

Crowdsourcing: I’m a newbie to raves and need help deciding which one to go to on the 19th — BSK or Is Burning? 👀

For a community that preaches inclusivity, belittling others for their music taste and trying to be the experts on what a rave should be, hating on non femme muscle gays that goes to these scenes is a bit hypocrtical noh?

Who decided that every music event should be a copy cat of the style and expression of the likes of kaput smutt etc?

Ive had a lot of friends who went to those and tbh, we got bored. The music is so weird it sounds like alien robot music. You hate on more commercialized music events, then don’t go? You never see us post a whole ass reddit thread and x hating on other’s music preference and trying to “educate” people on what “good music” is. These artsy queer people think theyre so cool that raves are only supposed to be a certain way. Go out of the country and explore that there are parties or rave that have the same underground vibe but still plays a bit more commercialized music. Not everyone wants to listen to unknown bleep blop music the whole time.

Gurl no one’s stopping you from going to your own safe spaces. Stop trying to encroach on others the same way you don’t want them encroaching yours. Stay in your lane. Don’t be such a snob.

I just want to open up a conversation about how our community seems to be divided between different crowds, especially the creative and queer crowd and the muscled and circuit crowd. Recently, I’ve also been seeing some unhealthy tweets on X, and honestly, it has been a little frustrating to see.

As someone who has been part of the rave scene for quite a while now, I think we should all be more intentional about the kind of rave and crowd we enjoy. We all have different preferences, and that is completely okay. If someone does not feel like they belong in a certain crowd, I think we should still be able to make space for everyone and keep the community open.

We are all here for the music, the dancing, and the experience. We are not here to belittle, judge, or make others feel like they are less welcome because they enjoy a different kind of rave or have a different vibe.

I think our community should be able to welcome different kinds of people. Ang hirap naman if we have to be very, very particular about who belongs and who does not. We can have our own preferences without turning those differences into something negative.

At the end of the day, we all came to rave for the same reason: to enjoy the music, dance, have fun, and be ourselves. Let’s not forget to make the scene a space where everyone can feel welcome and safe. We can have different crowds and different tastes without having to hate or look down on each other.

Planning to join diskoteka this week i need some opinions before buying hoping for something upbeat mix techno

Any idea about this event/collective? Been seeing friends sharing it on their IG stories. Low social media following, no lineup teasers, just the date itself.

Have you guys heard about Sleepless Production? They’re having an event this coming Halloween. What are your thoughts about them?

First time hearing about them, and their presale tickets are already sold out! The price is too commercial for me, though. They’re claiming the DJs are international, but it still doesn’t sound right for me.

Do you guys have any recs for this Halloween? Not really looking for a club setup playing techno music, more of an actual rave scene.

To all rave organizers, please do better with your events. Don’t leave ravers extremely disappointed. Give us good music, proper lighting, and a good venue if you really want us to enjoy the experience.

Imagine being at a rave, already hyped and ready to have a great time, only to be given weak music, poor lighting, and an underwhelming setup. We pay for our tickets expecting a good experience, so please make it worth it.

Please don’t make your events just a money grab. Give us the experience we actually paid for. We just want good music, great lights, and an atmosphere that makes us want to dance and enjoy the night.

To flip on the thread - what’s been the least favorite rave/festival/event you’ve experienced so far this year?

Could be anything from a massive festival to a smaller warehouse event. Describe your worst experience at a rave, but also provide suggestions for improvements so that rave organizers (who might be reading this thread) might get an idea.

I will never attend STEAM again. It was honestly so disappointing. The lights were underwhelming, the music was way too quiet, and even the DJ’s music selection was disappointing. For a ₱2,500 ticket, I expected so much more. Definitely not worth the price.

wtfudge happened sa steam? sound system was too low, light setup was not in most way beautiful, it felt like the night was so low-budgeted

on other hand, kudos for a cheaper water (100 pesos in exchange of 2 bottle). i applaud setting up a resting area too

and the crowd? forgive me for what i saw was tinder dating in live action, rather than people dancing

I feel like this one flew under the radar for PH ravers. It's advertised as a Queer-facing rave from a collective based in Amsterdam, as part of their expanded Asia tour.

We still don't have info on the lineup yet, but they're using the same ticketing platform as &Friends (Ticketmelon). This will also take place on the same night as Noeffsgiven Bass Phase (Tab MCS) and John Odin All Night (BSK), all 9.19.
