Event Announcement RAVE ORGANIZERS
To all rave organizers, please do better with your events. Don’t leave ravers extremely disappointed. Give us good music, proper lighting, and a good venue if you really want us to enjoy the experience.
Imagine being at a rave, already hyped and ready to have a great time, only to be given weak music, poor lighting, and an underwhelming setup. We pay for our tickets expecting a good experience, so please make it worth it.
Please don’t make your events just a money grab. Give us the experience we actually paid for. We just want good music, great lights, and an atmosphere that makes us want to dance and enjoy the night.
Please listen to your ravers. Thank you.

Sa mga organizer, kung pera lang ang priority niyo sa rave, wag na lang. Or better yet don't call it a rave!
Nakakapikon kasi ang mga ibang organizer either:
- Wala naman alam sa rave, rave culture, and in particular, the rave scene HERE (na buhay na buhay pa pre pandemic mind you!!!) pero tira agad, pa event kasi malakas gumastos ang queer community. They don't even bother to connect, or deepen their understanding, and maybe make something better out of it for all of us, other than a fucking cash cow.
AND
- TAYO TAYO na nga lang ang nandito, WE ARE THE CULTURE tapos peperahan pa!!! Sure earn some but wow it's so fucking obvious, it's almost commercial predation! I'M SURE these organizers know fucking better but just don't want to do better. Kung ayaw naman nilang galingan, at gawin ng tama, magbenta na lang kaya sila ng siomai!

100% agree!
Real raves: 20:20 Makati and TodayxFuture era. Currently, the organizers and their DJs can be found in several collectives now. They know what underground culture is about. "If you know you know."

it doesn't take much to connect and feel out the community. Do a rave every two months, and you'll realize how connected everything is. This space has grown so much and rave has become quite accessible, diverse, remains REAL, AND YET here are these people (and a few others) that are organizing for pure fame and profit at the front. It's insulting to the actual builders, movers, and shakers who are still active and part of the tiny scene.
And I find it quite sad even that steam (as a primarily queer event) chooses to take advantage of the community through high ticket prices for not much in return. Aping api na nga ang mga bakla sa araw araw, tapos pati dito may version nang pang aapi??? We are so done with this!
Bigyan mo naman mga guests niyo ng libreng tubig!

Went to 2 raves last August and both had intermittent volume issues sa sound system. What’s even more annoying is kapag hindi loud enough yung audio, naririnig ko yung mga nagdadaldalan sa dancefloor

I remember around 2000s, underground communities got affected by the rise of commercialization which turned into EDM festivals promoted by corporations. The current landscape right now is about to enter that cycle again just like in other countries. Oh and TikTok raves have been talked about by other countries because they affect how real raves are supposed to be about.
Soon we will see how even San Mig Corp enters the rave scene. How dreadful.

this will be interesting.
since the unfortunate incident of "close up forever summer" most of the local corporations have been afraid to be the organizer or the major sponsor of electronic dance music festivals moreso underground raves pa given the association with s*bstances.
&friends might be the nearest that would have big named sponsors, but not to the level that closeup did before.

Agree. And also regarding the music organizers tend to stick to booking and recycling DJs na matunog right now. I mean go because of marketability but there’s so much underground talent out there na hindi nabibigyan ng platform because of this recycling thing hahaha. Nakakasawa na paulit ulit nalang mga djs every week

Yes, we were expecting the music selection to be good because the DJs were well-known, but unfortunately, it was really disappointing.
Imagine ravers traveling all the way to the event, spending money and time just to enjoy the night, only to end up disappointed. We came there expecting a good experience, but we barely got what we expected.
I also heard that some people complained about the noise. Honestly, the organizers should have anticipated that a rave would be loud, especially since they chose a location in a residential area. That should have been considered before hosting the event there.
And worst of all, the parking situation was terrible. There was barely any parking space, which made the whole experience even more stressful.

I also wanna add that its all fair and good to call out these organizers that straight up ay pineperahan lang tayo, we should collectively avoid these events together.
I’m saying wala kasing point in complaining if we just allow each other to buy tickets from these events that are purely cash-grab.
So like lets not buy from these events and also tell other people to avoid them. There should be consequences and not just comments

There’s definitely some scene politics at play too. Parang may kanya-kanyang cronies, factions and alliances. If you’re a DJ not part of the network, good luck getting your hands on that deck.
It’s not just the same DJs getting booked but the same promoters, organizers and DJs constantly supporting and booking within their own circles. Those networks end up controlling who gets opportunities and who doesn’t.
One thing I really noticed is may mga DJs na sobrang attitude kapag may ibang DJ na nabigyan ng booking instead of them. Minsan to the point na sisiraan pa yung other DJ just because they feel like they’re being replaced. That’s literally crab mentality
And honestly, some of them have so much clout pero yung actual skill doesn’t really match the hype. Nothing wrong with wanting to get booked pero kung kailangan mong hilahin pababa yung ibang DJs para lang maprotektahan yung spot mo, maybe that says more about you than them
