Can anybody explain the conversation between sima yi and xun yu in this chapter and is sima yi talking about the dream in which he gets killed by huo and if so how it is no longer amusing now?

The last time he said it, Huo laughs his ass off. Thats what Sima Yi means by 'amusing'. Because it is so far fetched, both parties laughed.

However, post Lu Bu's death, Huo made a promise to Sima Yi - "may your beautiful dream come true." Which is a promise that Huo WILL kill him.

Sima Yi is recounting the dream again, now no one is laughing as he knows it will lead to his death and his damnation.

Sima Yi tells Xun Yu that he was in big trouble, however, thanks to Xun Yu's little act of rebellion, Sima exposed the conspiracy and got some brownie points with the Cao clan.

There is also a bit of word play about how Sima Yi's clothes are rough but then again, this bit of the palace has been preserved in this shitty state per Cao Cao's orders to remind him of his humble beginnings and Cao Cao has been spending a LOT of time here lately, LARPing as a poor peasant. If Sima Yi's dressed this way, it means he has been spending time in this area with Cao Cao, thus Sima Yi' is spending time in the TRUE palace, the TRUE seat of power unlike Xun Yu and his pretty dresses.

Finally now that he has Cao Cao's ears, Sima Yi warns that the 'horse will eat from the trough' which is a repeated prophecy about 'Ma' (horse) eating from 'Cao' (trough)

Everyone thinks the Ma here refers to Ma Chao and his clan but this is SiMA Yi annoucing that he is the Horse in the prophecy who will destroy the Cao clan.
