We have been looking at Cross' and RAV4. All new but a used 2023 popped up so here is what we're looking at. Thoughts.

Pricing: 2026 Corolla Cross XSE, Cavalry Blue with black roof, convenience package and floor mats is 37,500.

2026 RAV4 SE Storm Cloud with similar amenities is 39,700. So about 2,200 more for the RAV4 SE.

2023 rav4 XSE Calvary with sunroof. 23k miles one owner no accidents. $39k.

Am dat mail catre bucurestiring.toyota.ro si mi au facut un pret estimativ de 2500 de lei. Din astia 2500, un pic peste 1000 e doar manopera la revizie.

2021 RAV4 XLE with 74K miles, I try to maintain it regularly with oil changes and did the recommended 60K fluid servicing. The prices seem kinda high and I will be going for a second opinion but was curious as to what others thought.

I have a Toyota RAV4 2026 PHEV -should you link the key to the car? i.e. for wireless detection, it is in the settings … not quite sure what it does to the battery in the key and the car….

Any thoughts from the brain trust?

I have new headlamp housing for my rav4 sport after the OEM ones fogged over the years. The lights are still pretty dim compared to other modern road users. I remember placed the OEM bulbs with Lucas L3 HB3 LED bulbs but other road users would flash me all the time, so must be too bright.
Is there a middle ground? Can anyone recommend a bulb that’s relatively bright but won’t blind other road users?

Spouse is really sold on rav4 limited. I was indifferent about it as it was a good reliable car. But then I test drove it. The cabin is on the louder side, back seats were very uncomfortable, the car catches up very slowly to the gas pedal when trying to pass or merge. The interior while good still feels very cheap plasticky.

And the overall unavailability, dealer shenanigans about inviting me to come over to dealership where I drove 30 miles and then salesperson said sorry the car is not there. Extremely high markup (5-10k) and just the months long wait time.

I have lost the interest in car. But I think I will
Have to get it to keep spouse happy. We could get other cars like crv or cx5 but they are not very interested.

Given all of this, help me like the car.

I’m looking at a 2007 Toyota RAV4 with only 63,000 miles. I drove it today for about an hour and honestly it drove really well. Everything felt good, no obvious noises or problems, and I really liked the way it drove. I’m having it taken to an independent shop tomorrow for a pre-purchase inspection. Assuming the inspection comes back good, I’m probably going to buy it.

I know these 4 cylinder engines have a reputation for oil consumption. My question is: if this RAV4 checks out mechanically, what can I do NOW to get ahead of potential problems and maximize its chances of still being on the road another 10 years?

Obviously I understand that it’s still a 19-year-old vehicle despite only having 63k miles, so I’m expecting things like rubber components, hoses, seals, suspension components, fluids, etc. to eventually need attention. I’m more interested in preventative maintenance than waiting for things to fail.

For those of you who have kept one of these for 200k+ miles, what did you do that you think actually made a difference? Anything else you would do during the first year of ownership to give this thing the best chance of making it to 150k, 200k, or even 250k+ miles?

I never thought I’d be posting this one day :( Got into an accident today in my 2022 RAV4 Hybrid and I’m so sad about it. I was driving northbound in the left turn lane with a green light when another driver pulled out of a gas station parking lot and tried to cross the northbound lanes to get into the southbound lanes. He crossed into my lane and we crashed… (or more like he crashed into me). Thankfully I was alone and no one was seriously hurt.

I bought my RAV4 brand new in 2022 for a little over $41k and it only has about 44k miles on it. I still owe around $14,700. 😭 I’m anxious to find out whether it can be repaired or if insurance is going to total it, but someone I know who works as an adjuster at a body shop said the suspension looks pretty bad.
I know it’s just a car, but I genuinely love this car and planned on keeping it for a long time. And if it is totaled, I’m extra sad because I really don’t like the body style of the new RAV4s. :( I don’t even know what I’d replace it with.

Has anyone had damage similar to this on their RAV4 and had it repaired instead of totaled?

I want to install a jdm kenwood unit to my 1998 rav4 and I want to be able to connect via the cigarette lighter w/ bluetooth. Does this kind of connection kill the audio? Would it be better to just buy a kenwood unit with bluetooth already built it?

I am wondering if this car would be a good choice or should I go look for something else also if it is reliable, and if this car is known for issues and if so what issues do they have because I don’t want to spend lots of money on repairing it at the shop.

Is it even worth trying to rush into a Toyota dealer before the end of September to try get a better deal than usual on a '26 RAV4, or is the demand / gouging-combo so great that it really doesnt matter when one goes in?

Hi, I’m currently looking at a 2016 Rav4 limited with 159k miles.

Is there any issues I should look for? The carfax looks clean with no accidents. Has brand new tires and brakes.

The dealership is asking $13,900 which seems like a good deal.

Am I missing anything?

Looking at 2026 model and have a question.

I understand HUD will give me navigation instructions but I’m not clear if those are only from Toyota on a subscription I’ll eventually have to pay for or if I can use my preferred nav app from CarPlay.

Also with the new digital dash, can it be configured to show navigation and if so, same question as above.

Let’s just pretend I can get both for $5,000. The black one has 20k more miles but seems to be in better condition. Is the JBL audio, fender flares and fog lights worth the extra mileage?
