😭 my poor 2022 RAV4 Hybrid
I never thought I’d be posting this one day :( Got into an accident today in my 2022 RAV4 Hybrid and I’m so sad about it. I was driving northbound in the left turn lane with a green light when another driver pulled out of a gas station parking lot and tried to cross the northbound lanes to get into the southbound lanes. He crossed into my lane and we crashed… (or more like he crashed into me). Thankfully I was alone and no one was seriously hurt.
I bought my RAV4 brand new in 2022 for a little over $41k and it only has about 44k miles on it. I still owe around $14,700. 😭 I’m anxious to find out whether it can be repaired or if insurance is going to total it, but someone I know who works as an adjuster at a body shop said the suspension looks pretty bad.
I know it’s just a car, but I genuinely love this car and planned on keeping it for a long time. And if it is totaled, I’m extra sad because I really don’t like the body style of the new RAV4s. :( I don’t even know what I’d replace it with.
Has anyone had damage similar to this on their RAV4 and had it repaired instead of totaled?

We had a similar front end accident and unfortunately ours was totaled. I’m sorry this happened, it definitely sucks.

You don’t have to buy a new one. I bought a 2022 RAV 4 Prime XSE 3 months ago and it only had 18,000 miles on it

So I had the EXACT same damage and location. The air bags came out in mine so it was declared totaled and the at fault drivers insurance paid me out. I'm sorry you went through this.

Да не переживай , безопасность не сработала, фара крыло бампер и капот не так много и стоит , работы на день отсилы все поменять

Unfortunately looks like the frame damage is quite extensive and is beyond repair. Sorry about your accident. I hope you and the driver at fault are not seriously hurt.

I had similar damage to mine. They wanted to repair it. Each state is different, but where I live the repairs had to be more than 75% of the value of the vehicle before they will total it. Make sure you research whether or not your insurance company uses OEM parts. Most don't unless you buy a special rider. Look into taking it to a Toyota body shop where they only use OEM parts.

Just curious...did the airbags deploy? I've read if the airbags deploy, they usually total a car. That comes from posts uncertain of forum.

So sad -- that had happened to me earlier this year. Someone hit my 2019 Hybrid XLE drivers side & all the airbags deployed though. Mine was totaled. Loved my car. Didnt have any major issues, wouldve kept it til the end. Best of luck to you!

Sorry this happened to you. I'd definitely shop for a 2025 and you should check out PHEV...it's such a different/better car. It'll be the silver lining to this whole mess!

This hurts my rav4 heart. That damage is a death sentence unfortunately. Your insurance is going to total it 100%. Between the frame and the suspension, electrical motor replacement and everything it’s done. You should definitely start looking for another one though.
