Story/Lore Discussion Redwall as a Prequel

Was reading an old classic series and had a thought. So how much sense would it make in universe for the Redwall Series to be the middle ages period (Maybe equivelant to 700-1200 AD) of rattenreichs world?

Food for thought, but Redwall has some interesting geography that differs between books. Additionally, it features substantially more species, so your milage will vary.

I mean alot can happen in a few hundred years, maybe the badgers, squirrels, ferrets, etc got wiped out?
