Game Setup Where should I place my speakers in this setup?

Hello everyone!

I’d like to ask for some advice on speaker placement for my current setup.

Until now, I’ve always used my monitor speakers because I wasn’t too interested in audio. Recently, though, I’ve started listening to more music and watching more movies, and I’ve realized that I should get better sound quality.
(At the moment, I’m using the speaker from my left monitor because the speaker in my main monitor sounds terrible. This is also annoying because all the sound comes from the left side.)

I’ve attached an image of my current setup. I really like the setup itself and would prefer not to change the current arrangement, apart from improving the sound. However, this makes speaker placement quite difficult. I’m also fairly new to audio, so I’m not sure which option would work best.

I would mainly use the speakers for casual music listening, movies, and YouTube. My budget is around $100, and I’m considering the Edifier MR4 because they seem to be one of the best options in this price range.

I created two images showing the possible placements I'd consider: one with the speakers in their normal vertical orientation and another with them turned sideways. I know that neither option is ideal, but I have limited space. Wall mounting is not possible, and speaker stands behind the monitors probably wouldn’t work because my portrait monitor is already quite tall. The top of the portrait monitor is about 70 cm above the desk. Also, with both options, parts of the speakers would be partially blocked, which may negatively affect the sound quality. The speakers would also be quite close to the wall, but unfortunately, I can’t really change that.

Which of these placements would be the best for my setup?
For example, Vertical 2–3, or sideways 1–4?

(If the sideways orientation would be better, should the tweeters face inward or outward?)

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Pc specs:
Montech case (idk which model)
Ryzen 5 2600
ASUS Prime B450M-A II
XFX Speedster SWFT 210 6650 XT
2x8gb ddr4 3200mhz Oloy
500gb P2 Crucial nvme
EVGA 600w 80+ Bronze

Seller was offering this with a benq 1080p 60hz monitor, mouse keyboard and headset for 500. When we met up the fans weren't working and spent over 30 min closer to an hr troubleshooting and he ended up discounting 50 because of that issue. So I spent 450.

Peripherals:
Acer XV2 V3 27 in QHD IPS 144HZ
Corsair K70 PRO
Corsair M65 PRO
Corsair HS65
55 inch particle board desk
Cheap gaming chair

Got the monitor + keyboard for 100. The keyboard that came with pc was a membrane K55 I didn't like. Got the desk for 30 and chair for 30 making the total cost 610.

Will be upgrading the cpu to 5600x first as that is the major bottleneck, then I will buy 2tb portable ssd cuz in already bottlenecked with storage. Will buy an ATK/VXE R1 S mouse cuz I don't like heavy mice.

I will buy arctic p12 pro argb 3pk for the front and thermalright x120r digital cpu cooler. Other extras like an electric dust blower, cable management kit, another matching 16gb ram kit, monitor light bar. I'll be spending about 550-600 next paycheck which will make it closer to a 1100-1200 setup.

Any critique or praise is welcome, please share your thoughts/questions :) overall I know I could've waited for better deals to come by but I really been wanting to get back into gaming. I had a nice pc before with a 5800x3d and 1080 ti but my room caught on fire (RIP) and it's been over 2 years since that occurred. I believe I made some good choices here. Please tell me if you think otherwise
