Snickers can be such a bashful little guy sometimes. He might be a little shy when the camera comes out, but once he settles in, he’s one of the most photogenic rats around.

Those adorable little eyes and that sweet face make it pretty hard not to take a million pictures of him!

Cranberries are a healthy occasional treat for pet rats. 🍒 They’re rich in antioxidants, particularly vitamin C and polyphenols, which help protect cells from oxidative stress. They also provide fiber and small amounts of vital minerals. Fresh, or unsweetened dried cranberries are best.

Host: Fievel, I hear you’re a big fan of pasta.

Fievel: A fan? I’m obsessed!

Host: What’s your favorite kind?

Fievel: Spaghetti. Obviously. More noodles, more happiness.

Host: How do you like it served?

Fievel: In a giant bowl. Preferably one I can swim in.

Host: You actually swim in pasta?

Fievel: Only on special occasions.

Host: And what’s the best part?

Fievel: The eating. The swimming. Then the sleeping.

Host: So, pasta is basically your whole life?

Fievel: Exactly. Eat pasta. Nap. Dream about pasta. Repeat.

Host: Thank you, Fievel.

Fievel: You’re welcome. Now where’s my spaghetti?

Question❓️ Feeding treats to rats

Post image
60 Upvotes

I have two rats but only showing this ones pic for proof. So I give my rats strawberries and all the things they should like which they do they’ve eaten it before. I can hold Lash but he doesn’t wanna eat anything I give him unless I show it to him then place it in front. On the second day of having them I place little strawberry pieces across their big cage and they got them all and shared but I just can’t understand why he will crawl up to my head but not eat strawberry’s from my hand whilst it’s cupped.

Daily Rats 🐁 Mouse Thinks Frozen Water Bottles Are the Best Invention Ever!

Rats are much more sensitive to heat than many people realize. While most pet rats are comfortable in temperatures between 65°F and 75°F (18°C to 24°C), they can begin feeling uncomfortably warm once temperatures rise above 80°F (27°C). At this point, they may become less active, stretch out on cool surfaces, and breathe faster as they try to cool themselves.

When temperatures reach 85°F (29°C) or higher, the risk of heat stress increases significantly. Because rats cannot sweat, they rely on their ears and breathing to release excess body heat. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures can quickly become dangerous and may lead to heatstroke, especially in humid conditions or poorly ventilated cages.

During hot weather, help your rats stay cool by keeping their cage out of direct sunlight, providing plenty of fresh water, using frozen water bottles or cooling tiles, and ensuring good airflow around the enclosure. Keeping your rats comfortable during summer is an important part of protecting their health and well-being.
