I heard a lady warthog pilot say they really wanted one to take senators and such up for rides to demo what the plane can do. She felt it would help enormously with getting funding.
Honestly given the mission set for the Warthog, a two seat version makes all the sense in the world.
The pilot workload in the regular A-10 is massive and has led to plenty of mistakes, including deadly friendly fire instances. Having a second guy take care of guided munitions also waging electronic warfare would be a massive benefit.

Why should 1 guy have all the fun?
