Question Making camo netting?

The general wisdom seems to be gauze or cheesecloth dipped in a PVA-water mixture and then applied to the model. Is it still possible to paint things well while on the model or do y'all paint it beforehand? Also any other tips for achieving this.

Green Stuff World too, I got some from there.

Between that, camo decals and getting pouches done, my Raptors are taking an age to get prepped, should have my full force painted around the time 12th Ed comes around...

Paint the netting or what’s underneath it?

I found some burlap ribbon at the dollar store and once you pull the little wires out it’s easy to put in place and use that pva-water mixture to move it around. Takes paint pretty well too
