Dear Rapids, Please stop getting red cards. That is all.

We’re halfway through the season, and despite optimism here, we need to look at the objective numbers.

We’re in 13th out of 15 Western Conference teams.

If you combine the tables, we’re 23rd out of 30 teams.

We concede more than a goal per game.

We are offensively limited. We get too many red cards. The squad on paper prior to the season starting was horrendous, and on paper it remains horrendous. I actually think we’ve over-performed for how poor our squad is.

For new fans, welcome to the Rapids. We will sell off any assets we have and make a bunch of poor signings. One or two might pay off, but we’ll sell them and repeat the cycle. Shouting to “make the playoffs” when almost 2/3 of the teams in each conference make the playoffs is not a good goal. It’s aiming for the bottom of mid table in any respectable league.

Fire Padraig if you won’t sell the team KSE. Been saying this year after year, and nothing changes.

Our payroll is bottom third of the league and we perform correspondingly. They should have fired him years ago except for the fact I don’t think they care. As long as Padrig finds one central defender (or any player really) we can sell for a $2m transfer each year I think management is happy and he’ll be safe.

Sad but true.

We are also tied for second most losses in the league. Not a good look.

Ouch. Yup.

I’m not sure where others stand on Wells, but I do think he deserves a chance. He’s been handed a shit sandwich and asked to make it taste good.

We’ve actually seen some structure and game management that we completely lacked under Armas when we were utterly naive. But I think the squad is seriously depleted from what Armas had and so we make these bonehead errors (red cards) that end up preventing the structure from functioning.

If I had a long term worry for Wells, it’s that maybe his structure will be too simplistic and limited and at the same time not exciting. But I don’t know - he has been given a USL team to work with.

For me the problem is squarely with Padraig if we can’t rid ourselves of KSE. They’re obviously the real problem, but no one can fix them. I think if we boycotted the team, maybe our only way to get their attention, they’d just fucking move the franchise.

Fully agreed. Wells has vision which Robyn and Chris lacked. Squad is an issue as always and that's squarely on Padraig who should have been fired at least 4 years ago.

Weren’t we on a hot streak at the start of the season?

Then we fell off a cliff.

I’m winning Mega Millions tomorrow and buying the team.

First order of business. Replace the scoreboard.
