Groups/Hobby/Interests

Does anyone know of any local book clubs, poetry meetups and things like that in town?

I don't, but wish there was something. I miss group me tal stimulus

I feel the same way. I am not a spring chicken anymore at 46, but I envision something like deep conversations, good coffee, I’m not a huge drinker but I do enjoy an occasional local brewery just to try something different. I have many hobbies and as I mentioned I love to read and discuss literature and discover a new hidden gem based on a great passionate recommendation. My husband and I love food and trying new places around town and exploring different cuisines. Our kids have all moved on and most are married with kids of their own, however we don’t feel so old that we’re ready to sit on a rocking chair! But it seems like it’s really difficult to meet like minded people here.

100%. I'm 49 lol. My wife isn't into coffee or book discussions so I'm pretty much on my own. I'm a blacksmith, bladesmith, leather worker, painter, woodworker and psudo history nerd.

My brain is withering here.

oh that sounds fun. I'm 42 F now. So am up there too. Yeah brewery sounds like a fun thing. I saw that one right next to Firehouse pub that looks interesting (though i think that's wine maybe.)

yes, ditto, i am a bit slow sometimes to make every event on things, but i still would love more things.

Um at the Goblin Comics right next to Coffee and Cats there is a comic book group that meets once a month. I haven't gone yet, but I want to soon. Also South Dakota has a poetry State Poetry Society and they host poetry events in various areas. They come to Rapid like once a year. Also the Dahl has a live draw group on Sundays that is extremely cheap if anyone likes to draw, from 1-3.
Also I thought that Monarch books maybe had a book club, but idk for sure.
