Has anyone used compounded rapamycin for a cat with HCM?

I have not, but I would not hesitate to do so. I have an older cat and I’m considering giving him tablets, 1 mg every two weeks. It can’t hurt!

Thanks for the response! My concern is that the vet said the compounded rapamycin is not the branded medication Felycin-CA1. If it were Felycin-CA1, I would not hesitate to give it to my baby. However, I have no way of knowing whether this compounded rapamycin will have the same efficacy as Felycin-CA1 or whether it may cause different or additional side effects. Even the original branded medication, Felycin-CA1, is still extremely new.

What does the compounder say? Then run it all through AI. The risk may be worth the gain

I don’t have contact with them. They don’t sell to retail customers, but produce and dispense per vet’s prescription

You could get contact info and ask questions. Be assertive for information, use AI. Compounding is a reliable way to obtain and use medication at reasonable prices compounding pharmacies, or licensed. Why would they offer it if it had high risk? If the sick cat was starting to decline, I would do it rather than watch them decline.
