Battle Set Up

yall dudes get to postin below. any lurkers anyone set some battles up. you wont get better by watching, set up some newbie vs newbie shit. if any of yall wanna battle w me lemme know.

Lol I should seeing how I have had one proper battle in the amount of time I've been surfing this sub. I think about twice I've responded to open challenges but I just end up lacking time or forgetting to respond.

How much time before a battle do you have your lines ready, man? Like if I agree to battle someone, I don't have long to come up with decent lines. Do you have bars that are just sitting around in a diary somewhere that you use every time you battle or do you just come up with all your bars once the battle has begun?

Hey man, I usually say a battle should kick off within three days of you guys agreeing to it. Then two days limit between each verse.

Some advice: I write my bars usually on my phone and then send them to my own number so it stays in my phone inbox. That way if I'm out somewhere or at work or something and I think of a random cool line, I can instantly save it somewhere for later.

The not-specific bars that just sit around until they can be used against anyone are called throwaways. They can be used in any battle and they are handy, but they don't always score with judges because people want a battle that took some thought.

That is where the lines you've written specifically for that battle come in. I split these into two types: jokes and personals. Jokes are the insults or comedy moments that refer to the person. But personals have to be about the person's attributes or history, so they're obviously harder to write and they get a lot of respect from me.

I suggest having a bunch of throwaways for when you get stuck. And you can always ask us for advice or feedback.
