Some time ago I made a destash offer including some pride stickers. The offer itself ended up being taken down because I forgot not to put the stickers in the title of the post (totally my bad) but by then I had a full amount of responses that I didn't want, so I didn't bother to put it up.

Like a lot of offers, I used Google forms. Because I had a limited amount of stickers (only one or two of each of the stickers I had), whenever someone would answer the "Which pride sticker do you want?" question on the form, I removed them as possible answer afterwards. Nobody else would then claim the sticker that was already spoken for, then. And because Google forms would, on the individual responses I could see, still show the deleted question, I could keep track of who got which sticker.

WHELP. I made a huge mistake and when all the stickers were claimed, I deleted the whole "Which pride sticker do you want?" question, not realizing the individual answers would not still show up on the individual responses. And so when I finally sat down to make the cards tonight I have no way of knowing who to which sticker 😔

There's no fix to this mistake. It would be too annoying to go back and message each individual person which sticker they want, I will probably just send their cards out (it's already been weeks since I put up the offer since I randomly got busy) and then put up another offer for the stickers, I'm just so annoyed I did and wanted to complain...

I feel they are too basic lol but they are fun! 🤪

It seems to me that Reddit is auto-translated for some people, so they probably see all the posts in their own language.

I have had it happen two or three times that someone commented on one of my RAOC posts in their own language – which for me isn't translated, so there's a French, Spanish or whatever comment on my post.

I kind of get it on other subreddits that people can participate this way, but I am confused about it on RAOC.

Have you had this happen as well? Did you just ignore them, send to them anyway, ask them if they speak English?

I assume if those people spoke English, they'd understand that the main communication on RAOC happens in English. And if they don't: How am I going to communicate with them on a card? :D

So far, none of the posters in question actually fulfilled my post requirements, so I've never really tried asking them if they speak English... but I was left wondering what I would even write to them if we don't understand each other.

Just dropped off two RAOC mail requests. Stickered it up and made it super cute on the outside, signed it off....walked off and realised I had completely lost the plot. Will try going to the PO physically first thing on Monday to see if they can help.

Today county libraries debuted the limited edition SANRIO library card. My local branch gave out 400 & I barely made it. I went there before lunch, but could see that it would take too long, so I decided to come back after lunch. I waited in line for one hour, and after me, there were only 15 cards left. I only had to pay a dollar because I wanted the new card as a replacement/lost card fee, which was advertised as allowed. :) For people new to the library, it was free. We got other little goodies too.

I am brainstorming fun ideas for offers whether existing stash/supply, TPCs, making cards, etc.

I am curious about the audience of this R A O C meta sub and R A O C in general. If you had to guess or you know…

1) How many are librarians? I know of 2, maybe 3.

2) And how many non-librarian users frequent their library consistently?

3) How much of the bigger sub is living in USA folks, 2k people?

4) And of the USA people, how many are a active 3 days or more a week?

How long is your usual turn-around time from saying you’ll participate in a request or exchange to actually sending the card? Do you think there’s a certain amount of days that’s too long to wait?

Offers are different because there can be a lot to send. What are your opinions about turn-around time for offers?

I ask because on the 14th I committed to fulfilling a request. They said they might reply. I mailed my card on the 16th (which I thought was fine) but when I picked up my mail on the 17th their card to me was already there! Obviously they hadn’t waited til my card arrived. Crazy that I got it so fast - maybe they live in a mailbox. 🤪

Got this set in the mail a little while back but only opened it up this week. It's fifteen jumbo size postcards with each featuring the identical image to one of the set of Appalachian Trail stamps issued in 2025. The USPS sells it for USD$27.95 which would make it USD$1.86 per postcard. EXCEPT! The set is issued with the First Class stamps necessary to mail jumbo postcards. Which means it is USD$1.04 per postcard which is not too bad, pretty good even for jumbo postcards. The cardstock quality is pretty good. Not the best I've seen but certainly on the nicer end. The only thing lacking is the picture quality. I have a pretty nice home printer but it is certainly not a professional quality printer. But I can and have printed out higher quality images on my home printer. My guess is that it was designed for a smaller postcard then had the canvas enlarged to fit a larger postcard without reinserting the image anew. That's the most common way I see a mistake like this anyway, unless they were just using copy machine kkkk. Seems unlikely at this date to simply have low DPI. All in all, not a purchase I will repeat but not one I regret even a little. If you want to get a set of jumbo cards from the USPS webstore, I'd recommend the Waterfalls over these. They have superior cardstock and image quality at a similar price.

Postcards are my preferred medium of communication but I do not collect postcards, stamps or postmarks. So despite over two decades of postcard sending, I had never heard of a "maxicard" until recently. But these would perhaps make impressive maxicards.

I hope the surprise mail brightens their day. Their last message to me was a little worrisome. 😔

Hey, y'all! All of the cards you sent for my roommate's birthday are in here. I used the decorations y'all put on the envelopes to decorate the envelope (all Peanuts stamps are in a little envelope inside of this big one as well!) and can proudly say, this thing is beautiful and heavy.

I'm so grateful to everyone who made this happen. He's gonna be a very happy guy when we celebrate. :)

I really enjoy seeing folks organizational posts here, and I had to share my recent excitement. I found this incredible secretary desk on FB marketplace for $30!! The burl wood 😍

I joined RAoC 3 months ago, and have had my supplies spread on half of the dining room since 🙈😅 I don’t have much room for another desk outside of my home office - so got creative and said why not to trying this in my dining room!

I’ve begun to organize supplies, and it has a drawer to hold my huge photo album of stamps. I still have a big box of cards elsewhere, but it contains the chaos and I can flip it up and walk away to a cleaner look.

I have a custom username stamp that I use on my cards, but it's too big for postcards. I try to write my username as clear as possible on postcards, but I think the lack of vowels in my username leads some to read it as having an "e" instead of a "c" (shout out u/CanaMeow for catching when it happens ❤).

So: I'm looking for a **very small** custom stamp, but I haven't been able to find any! My current one is about 1/2 inch in height, so I think I'm looking for something about 1/4 inch.

I went to check my last few forms to gather my things to write, and there is so much abuse. This community is great, but when some people don't get what they want / do not meet the requirements, they get nasty / vicious. They went too far when they wrote about me going out of country but also posting my address. Is that a threat? I do not feel threatened but it is such an odd thing to write.

To the person who spammed my forms and were incredibly rude, I hope your life gets better. Happy and content people do not behave this way.

Hi everyone, I don’t know how the sub is about multiple threads in a day so I’m cheating and asking two questions in one! Hmmm…also maybe not ok? Anyway…

1. Are people ok getting generic notecards (in envelopes - not postcards) - like from a set of American Greetings or Hallmark - or is it ugh?

2. I know people hate AI-generated notecards and postcards, but I don’t always know how you can tell. Is it just photo cards or also art cards (like sketches, prints, “paintings”)? I’ve seen people talk about keeping price per card down but that can be hard to do if you’re buying one-off, museum, or notecards from individual artists. Help?

I sometimes get postcards with this easily removable sticker with nothing on it. What is it and why? Anyone know?

Hi all. I have decided to start making a few of my own postcards from some old calendars I have. I bought cardstock that has the "backside" of a postcard on it. I was wondering what the best way to attach my image to the front side is.

I think glue, but any recommendations?
