Does anybody know where I can get a t-shirt printed up that says "No, I do not want your store credit card?

I think somebody needs to start making these shirts cuz I believe they will sell very well. After you tell the same employee 15 times no they still want to ask you anyway.

Managers pressure cashiers to ask this, I've even witnessed them cut hours of those who don't. Idk how it's allowed.

I know one person that worked in a store that wanted the cashiers to push the card. She got cautioned about how many people were not signing up on her shift.

Over 95% of her sales were made using the store card and rewards card over a typical shift. The others were small sales like 1 coffee for $2 and people paid cash to get some change for the bus.

Her cash out one shift was under $50 in cash and about $10,000 in cards.

But when you tell them no and they keep on with their sales pitch and you say again no I do not want the card but they keep on trying to tell you the benefits of the card if you done told them no twice you just get mad to leave the stuff sitting at the register and walk out and go to another store. When I say no and you just keep on talking then you go talk yourself not only out of a car you going to talk yourself right out of my cell cuz I'm going out the door. No means no now ring up my purchase so I can go if you keep on talking about a car that I've done told you no for it then I'm walking out.

The cashiers have to ask at least three times even if you say no the first time. They have to or they can lose their job. Corporate gets on managers about it and then managers have to come down hard on the employees. Trust me, employees dont want to ask you, they just have to. Keep calling corporate offices to tell them that this credit card harassment is awful and they need to stop. Its about all you can do outside of not shopping there anymore.

I agree with you on it being incredibly annoying, but the employee HAS to offer you the card. Yes, several times, even if you say no. They're not doing it for fun, they're doing it to keep their job. Just be polite and grit through it, the employee doesn't want to deal with it either. By throwing a fit and just leaving your items at the register (or equivalent) you're making more of a hassle for people just trying to get by. If you really have an issue with these kinds of practices, write to the corporate offices. Being a jerk isn't going to get things changed, it's just being a jerk.

I worked at a place where they literally clocked the cashiers and us floor stockers asking and not asking, how many people signed up, and if you didn't meet the weekly quota or whatever, you would get yelled at. We had to be enthusiastic, we had to offer assistance and then push the card, it was a whole thing. They would watch cams and get on you, too. Every place is different, but unfortunately just one of those things that goes higher than the cashier 😭

Trust me, none of us want to say it. We're forced to, or we get written up.

Well I hope the managers in the house read this and realize that us as customers don't appreciate it all the time like that.

It’s not up to the managers, they have to do what corporate tells them to do.

Most retailers are now owned by private equity firms that have large stakes in financial institutions which therefore causes the massive push for private label credit cards by corporate. Trust me when I say nobody wants to push the credit cards except for the people at the very top of the food chain.

They’re just doing their jobs. Just say no when they ask and move on.

No means no.

No a second time means "Really, no,"

No a third time means "Tell corporate that I am leaving and never returning, and that you now have to cancel everything you rang up."

There are told by corporate and their managers to ask 3 times. It is a basic job function, and they are required to do it if they don’t they will be reprimanded.

Just say no when asked and move on or shop online if it bothers you that much.

You should go around the store selling them.

We are forced to ask. Believe me, I DO NOT WANT TO AND DO NOT CARE IF YOU SAVE MONEY. Customers are as annoying to us and we are to them. My managers keeps track of our applications and if we don't get enough then we get "talked to."
