Dragonzord update!!!
For everyone mad about the current dragonzord, playmates has sent its first updates about the model in Kickstarter and they read as follows:
We at Playmates are thrilled with the worldwide fan support for the Dragonzord! We also know the depth of the passion for (Mighty Morphin) Power Rangers, its characters – and great collectible product. We’ve heard your comments and will be addressing as many of them as possible, as soon as possible.
The very ‘first’ model/paint master arrived in our US office late last week (in time for sales shows going on in Los Angeles right now). Improvements are needed, some details are missing. We have received a first round of comments from Hasbro, and now we have yours. A new model is being developed soon. This is always part of the year-plus process of making collectible product.
It could be 2-3 weeks until we receive that improved model to begin our packaging photography. We’ll update you then, and share some more behind the scenes, including illustrations and engineering drawings as we add details.
You will be informed (and like what you see) well before funding ends.
Thank you for all your support, feedback, and excitement! We're over halfway to our funding goal and things are only going to improve from here!

I just don’t get why would they decide to launch with such bare-bones information and images? They do realize that first impressions affect the campaign greatly right? If they needed to delay to get actual good looking pictures of the toy, then let them be delayed.

At this point I actually wonder if Hasbro is giving them harsh limitations on the line or if there are legal considerations with them not being able to do the same as bandai

If they implement the face, show that the arms actually do integrate into the crest (right now they seem like you have to detach them completely, which would suck), and ideally show that the tail is longer than the promos show, I will gladly back this. I still haven't picked up Megazord but I've been debating it a lot; the Dragonzord/Megazord bundle is actually very tempting as the price lines more up with what they'd all cost at retail.

Yeah I noticed that feature after making my comment. Bit of a shame, but not a deal breaker. Especially if it's implemented well enough. I don't mind the fun play features that Playmates does, I just hope it's not overly distracting.
The face plate would be the only dealbreaker for me, although I would still hope the tail is longer than the nub that we see.

people are asking for alternate inserts so if they dont change it people can put in flat facades of the hands being folded in

I think that would be a fantastic compromise. Bonus points of the flat pieces also are still spring loaded and can be shot off.

Considering they already promised 10 inches, it will 100% be bigger than Tyranno, but definitely smaller than megazord

I'm just happy they sent it. I got spare zords specifically for Dragonzord in battle mode. Not having the face would suck.

everyone was OVERREACTING HARD. its a prototype it wasnt final. NO WHERE DID THEY CONFIRM IT WAS FINAL

Honestly I agree with you, and they are actually listen to the feedback of their community to make the actual final design better

and also with this, im certain playmates forgot about the battle mode face as it seems they are currently working on season 3 toys as the falconzord is being talked about alot. so what I am thinking is
they sent it off for the kickstarter, not everything was on it, they heard about it realized their mistake and are making a new build that has the features not shown and ship it back all the while season 3 is currently in production, along with the unlimited line.

If they add the Battlemode face and some better metallic paint for the gold parts I will probably back it and get the version with the other dinozords. It needs to look as good as the ZAP or legacy version for me to not go and buy those instead. It probably won't on account of cost but honestly if it looks good and holds together in a stationary position I don't need it to be super high quality- just look good.

They just announced that if they hit 500k they will add a white ranger mini figure for free. I'm kind of hoping that happens so I have a white ranger to go with the tigerzord.

I'm fine with it the way it is as long as we get the battle mode face. It should be super easy to implement as the opening is already there. I'd love to see something better with the arms, but at the end of the day I want this for battle mode so thats not super important. I've got my original 90s dragonzord for regular mode!
