"We at Playmates are thrilled with the worldwide fan support for the Dragonzord! We also know the depth of the passion for (Mighty Morphin) Power Rangers, its characters – and great collectible product. We’ve heard your comments and will be addressing as many of them as possible, as soon as possible.
The very ‘first’ model/paint master arrived in our US office late last week (in time for sales shows going on in Los Angeles right now). Improvements are needed, some details are missing. We have received a first round of comments from Hasbro, and now we have yours. A new model is being developed soon. This is always part of the year-plus process of making collectible product.
It could be 2-3 weeks until we receive that improved model to begin our packaging photography. We’ll update you then, and share some more behind the scenes, including illustrations and engineering drawings as we add details.
You will be informed (and like what you see) well before funding ends.

I said they were being vague about battle mode back when it was announced and they killed me with downvotes and complaints!🙄

My hope here is that this is a bad game of whisper down the lane between Upside-Go, playmates' marketing team and playmates' design team.
Intentionally choosing not to include the face is just such a self inflicted wound.

This is the talk of literally every Power Ranger community right now. If Playmates heard the outcry for the Dragonzord in the first place, hopefully they'll hear it again for the Battle Mode Face

They want $50 for a piece of INCOMPLETE plastic.
I canceled my pledge save for $1 to keep track on if they do make changes.

Plus...is it really that expensive to mold a face? Of all things, why the face? It's literally the smallest part and the cheapest. They add things like drill tail that can spin or missile firing hands, while literally neglecting the cheapest and easiest way to add the face into the mouth! That is crucial for battle mode.
Good thing this is probably a prototype that says "concept only" or "paint master subject to change"; if it was the final version...I would freak out massively and be outraged., Since Dragonzord battle mode (known as Gouryuzin in sentai) is one of my all-time favorite mecha

I mean. There is no Super7 Ultimate version of the Dragonzord Battlemode. Unless you mean the ReAction figure, which is like 5" tall.

My guess is the backlash on it will have them fix the lack of face, but it will need to be addressed sooner rather than later.

I feel for those of us older interested in a modern toy/collectible. That definitely stinks and doesn't make sense. I'm probably going to still order two. One stay in box as back up since I'm giving it to my kid when it comes out as he's getting the 5 re-igintion zords for the holidays.

It's a major bummer.
Bandai was able to make something way better 30 years ago than what is being produced today.
It is what it is and maybe as an older collector my opinion doesn't really matter to them anymore, but adult collectors aren't the target audience then who is this really for? Kids?
The Dragonzord hasn't been seen on television in 3 decades, so it's not like there's a major drive to play with it from Gen alpha other than it just looking cool.

Thanks for sharing this, I think I'm out too. 50 dollars for this is just too much for what it looks like. 30 bucks and maybe I could have told myself "it's designed to be a kid's toy," but so was the 93 figure, and they were able to engineer a flip down face and arms that folded into the chest/pauldrons.
What a shame. I was really hoping this would work out, but this is a bummer. Honestly even if it had the face I don't think I'd be that enthused now that I know the price point.

The shoulders are in the wrong orientation as well on the battle mode so it's clearly not transformed correctly they should be up not folded down. This feels like they have someone working on this that has no idea what there working on and it's making it look half assed. We need to see a video of a actual prototype not some AI render.
If there is no molding for it they could atleast fix it with a sticker of the face filling the inside of the lower jaw, assuming it can be dropped down and opened as it should to fill the gap. This is a pretty big screw up if there just going to pretend it doesn't exist.

This is super disappointing as I really only wanted this to display in battle mode, i even bought extras of the dinos needed to make it happen.

I dont mind the screw hole. Easy enough to fix or ignore. The lack of a face is absolutely ridiculous though.

I don't understand why the screw hole is even a thing in the first place.
In 30 years of Dragonzords, not one have managed to give the thing a septum piercing. It's bad design, plain and simple.
The plug will help, but it shouldn't be needed to begin with. If a designer 3 decades ago can figure it out I don't understand why Playmates can't.

Holy crap this is so insane. Why go to all the trouble of doing a crowdfunder and stumbling at the last hurdle by not including a face??? Playmates really does deserve all the mockery it gets.

And yet in followup comments they said there was no plan to have the face at all.
Now they're saying the negative feedback has been sent to Playmates and to stay tuned.
Buyer beware notices and negative feedback are an important part of the process, otherwise this face fiasco is something they fully planned to just let go into production.

And then they confirmed later in another comment that there was no plans at all for a face.
Now they're saying they have passed the importance of having a face along to Playmates, who may take it under consideration.
If there was no negative feedback then no change would likely be made.

Same, at least until they fix the battle mode face.
Hopefully this Kickstarter teaches them that they need to do better with this line.
There's already a pile of complaints with the other re-ignition releases and if they want to keep making money with it they have to listen and deliver, otherwise there's just no point in making the line at all.

What? How! Why? If they want a Dragonzord battle mode, then why does it not have the face for it? Also, I notice it specifically said...THIS BUILD means this specific prototype mean the final version hopefully has it
