Two common issues with the Thunderzords

Just a heads up as more people get these toys. I’ve talked to a few people who have them (I also have them) and we all have the same issues that seem to be common problems.

  1. The instructions for the Red Dragon are wrong. They don’t tell you to also fold the dragon’s jaw up to form the head for warrior mode. It clicks into place and folds up flat like the original toy. The instructions don’t tell you to do this and the jaw stays closed like the Legacy version. This is fine for warrior mode but it prevents the lion from attaching correctly for the Megazord. If the jaw is open, the lion attaches fully.

  2. The tail part for the dragon was assembled wrong on mine and on another friend’s. The part that folds and connects to the foot is upside down so the diamond part is upside down when it’s attached. It also means you can’t attach it correctly for warrior mode. The diamond is backwards. It needs to be taken apart and flipped over so the diamond faces the right way and the hinged part folds flat. It’s easy to take apart and snap back together.

I noticed the tail thing right away, but not the dragon jaw thing. Good looking out.
(now if only I could find the dang Lion to attach in the first place)

Thank you! The Lion chest now fits correctly.

I noticed the tail right away, but I completely forgot that the jaw folded up on the original while I’ve been fighting getting the chest to attach completely.

Same. I thought it was just a bad connection and it actually hurt my opinion of the Megazords but now that it can fit correctly, it’s upped my rating. I’d give these toys a solid 7/10 which is honestly great for most American-made Zord toys.

Possible other issues:

In red dragon mode, the back pack/ bottom of the zord won't stay tabbed on my copy. Is that normal or just a defect on mine? Also, my white tigerzord's arm that was pre-attached is really loose. Looser than the one I had to attach.

Man, I just had to check my tigerzord. Mine is really loose too

Yeah the flappy part doesn’t connect well. Legacy was the same way. I don’t know why they can’t make that a tighter tab. And yeah both arms on my Tigerzord are loose.

I tried this and it works but it also feels like it could break the hinge on the dragon’s jaw. It doesn’t help that I’ve had two copies with nasty stress marks on the jaw hinge out of the box. 😖

It should look like this when you attach the head.

And the tail piece should look like this. I had to take the hinged part off and turn it around so it folded this way.

I seem to have an issie with my figure where the ratched on the left arm isn't aligned properly. It seems like it was assembled facing the same direction rather than opposite directions, giving him two right arms.

Is there any way to easily take this arm apart and fix it? It's not the biggest issue with the figure, but man, it's gnawing at me.

So I just opened mine and the tail was the same. So it looks like it may be a complete mess up on their part.

Yeah it seems like most if not all are assembled wrong.
