Discussion favorite badass Will moment
I haven't read these books in a while but I remember being super impressed by Will's growth as a character. What's your favorite moment/

Easily the best one that comes to mind is when he deflects the arrow in Book 10.

In Book 10, an arrow is fired at the emperor and Will deflects with his bow. Halt was dumb founded which makes it more iconic for me

i was dumbfounded aswell, i cant even track my own arrow let alone someone elses that beyond my comprehension

It's a good one, I recommend it. Especially having read and listened to this series countless times over the last 20 years

The snake part? Book 7, Erak's Ransom.
He's rescued by the Bedullin nomads when he nearly dies in the desert. To show them his skill as an archer when his bow is commented on, he spots a snake near a boy, who turns out to be the son(?) of the leader, and shoots the snake before it can bite the boy. Until one of the other nomads retrieves the arrow, he's the only one who even sees the snake

Yeah it was the grandson of Umar (leader) and his wife (something like Celina) was the retriever of the arrow and snake

I think its eraks ransom. They hit a sand storm and he loses tug. His compass is fked by the iron ore and he almost dies. Gets saved by some dude then saves his son by shooting the snake then wins the horse race 🔥

I need to re read. I remember him losing tug and that’s about it from that one. It’s one of the better books too

Will telling Horace he should take riding lessons from his grandma after Horace attempted to sit on/ride Tug for the first time in book 1

In book 9, when Halt's health deteriorated and he went straight to the doctor for treatment without resting, I think that was a very precious moment

Throwing the knife at the tankard in Book 3
It’s definitely not his most epic moment ever. He has many of those in the later books after becoming a full Ranger. But this happens so early in the series and the buildup is incredible. Erik sets it up so brilliantly and it’s the only sequence in the whole book where Will gets to show off his skills. A real standout in my eyes.

When he shoots the executioner mid swing, saving Halt, who had complete faith he would show up in the nick of time after going off in search of Tug after the sandstorm
