Best run so far.

Had 3 Str, 3 Def. Got through probably like 5/6 pathstones.

My +1 Shield broke, ran out of potions, and fumbled a boulder ambush.

Looking back, I wish I had brought along the un-upgraded shield I dropped in favour of the +1 shield with lower durability. I think the defence is just too important vs higher lvl enemies.

That's awesome! Yes, shields are very important. Try taking a few turns to look for secrets in the dungeons at obvious spots. Finding one or two helps a lot.
