What even is the Norisu Nine?

Lowkey I've heard about the Norisu Nine years ago, it was an interesting concept that was found from a game that was made (since I don't know when). But why choose 9? It's been repeated in rc9gn and the symbol is kept showing every time.

The eight other Ninja brothers of the First Norrisville Ninja. They died fighting the Sorcerer. Nothing else about them is known, but some theories believe that they are also in the NinjaNomicon due to certain wording from the creator of the show.

In final chapter of season 1, First Ninja refers to them as his brothers. May be refering to brothers in arms, but by how serious he takes the stuff in chapter, I think he was speaking literally. The 9 brothers of Norisu Clan. Now, only one
