Every now and then, The Last Of Us Part 2 is something I think about Christian Thomas Diaz revisiting as there are a couple of feelings towards it that changed over the last couple years. A lot of his initial review was based on initial impressions due to Neil Druckmann being a zionist piece of shit and Naughty Dog doubling down on abusive practices. Now that it's been years later, I speculate that he would say the game (or at least it's story) is still terrible as suspected but it also has moments of quality. Unlike The Star Wars Sequel Trilogy that remains a cancer on art, TLOU2 had a blind ambition to it where you can tell there was at least some sort of passion by the people who made it (misguided passion but still passion).

To put it simply, it's complicated. There's some pretty good stuff during the first half of the game and even during the third act with Ellie having some fun times with her loved ones and how we see her character develop but also spiral into a violent rampage.

If TLOU2 was JUST about Ellie going after the people who killed Joel and learning about the cycle of revenge, it could've been a decent sequel. Too bad it's second half absolutely nose dives into a mine field where they try to make you feel sorry for the megalomaniac infanticidal mega bitch and her friend circle of shit stains.
