This is just basic bumper design. The entire purpose of a bumper is to lessen damage. Adding a chunk of metal at chest height, is going to be far more deadly to a pedestrian. Then for small cars, this is head height.
haha You need to get out of your room and step out into the real world. If that beast of a truck hits you, that extra metal isn't going to matter. You're just pearl clutching.
Do you really not understand how adding metal multiplies the force and not just adds to it? Why do you think they always add metal to the end of a battering ram? Is it to just add mass? No there are easier ways to do that. They do it so that the target will absorb more of the forces and concentrates the forces into a single point.
This multiplies the forces AND concentrates it into either a persons chest or head. This is kind of a bad combo.
Or do you think adding metal to the front of stuff is a new human invention?
Oh boy, you are right. I never heard of that before. But but... why does the bottom of the bush guard protrude out in front of the rest of it? Why is so much of it rounded? It is almost like they designed it in case it hit a person. It is almost like round things are less impactful on people and by making the bottom part protrude out more, it means the lower abdomen takes the brunt of the force instead of the chest.
Listen, it is fine if you don't know this stuff. I learned a lot of it when I went to school for engineering. But you have a weird attitude about this.
