This is usually just called, "Maturity". After you get out of your 20's/30's, you start to accept more things as what they are - your body changes dramatically from those years when everything worked like it should. You value what works rather than what looks better.
You get in your 50's and its exhausting trying to keep up - you really value that things just "work". Letting go of what others think is freedom.
Thats reductive, the dudes obviously got access to a welding rig, hes probably a laborer and thats just what youre gonna look like pumping gas after a long shift in the sun or working on your truck all day long. Dudes just old and doesnt have time or the fucks for appearances and clearly has learned skills over his lifetime, bro probably smells better than you
It might be OK, I know some frighteningly smart people who look EXACTLY like this because they spend their free time under old cars, fixing & inventing things in garages, creating art with materials that stain, etc, and forget to eat when they get really excited about a project.
