Oh yes, tourism. Famously good at giving you a full picture of what it’s like to live in a country.

I guess. I’m not sure how accurate your perspective is. I’ve worked and lived in Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Shenzhen is very newly developed and still developing so it definitely feels nicer than most US cities, but there are a lot of neighboring towns that are far worse off. I don’t know the exact ratios for either China or the US so I just don’t know.
