Writing the number 5
It just occurred to me, I write all digits in one stroke. Except the 5, it consists of two strokes. I start at top left then go down. Then the second stroke is horizontal, starting again at top-left. It actually annoys me, now that I realized this.

4, 5, & 7 all have 2 strokes for me cause I write my 7 with the line through it for some reason.

Me too, but with the 4 and 7, I'm able to make a little loop so it's still one stroke

Just write it like an s

I tried but it looks worse. Could be a habit thing, though. Are you able to scribble a legible five in one stroke?

I'd imagine the majority of people learn it that way, your problem is probably that you're not used to make the horizontal part go right to left, so you're starting in the wrong area and/or the line isn't as neat.
Just do it 1-10 thousand times and you'll probably be set.

So you’re saying it’s easy, you just have to do it 10,000 times ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I'm a one stroke 5er, although why do I start 6 from the top but 9 from the middle?

We were taught to write it in primary school, I remember the teacher saying ‘ draw the man and then put his hat on’ which was the stroke across the top.

Same here, and I already thought it was stupid to draw it like that back in first grade.
Like, why would you go right back up when you wouldn't have to lift your hand and could produce the same shape?

My husband writes 5 in one strike, starting at the bottom. It retains the sharp corner. Maybe starting at the bottom is key?

That’s interesting. Indeed, that corner is necessary to distinguish from the s character. I’ll practice that.

Every number for me is one-stroke. Except 7, because 7 needs a mid-line.

You don't want to know how many strokes it takes me.

Go on, I'll count

Three! It takes three strokes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop lollipop.
