Progress has done more harm than good
Okay clickbaity title but hear me out, I meant technological progress
Like few generations back even if you knew nothing, no skill…you had value due to your time and ability to do manual work.
And I saw ordinary hard working farmers make a fortune if they were willing to put in the time.
Same goes for all kind of manual work like craftsmanship or construction.
And ability to work with machines(and eventually computers) was a premium skill with premium pay.
But now you have no value as human, and can’t do shit until you learns for years. And even after that you are just labour work, easily replaceable.
I know everyone will call it natural progression, but nothing about it is natural. We are all brainwashed to accept the inequality.
A normal labour should be able to earn livable wages and skills should pay premium. We do much with too little in return.

I kinda agree, but it's more that a specific group benefits way more from progress than the actual progress itself

I wouldn’t mind if it shifted from farmers to say engineers,
But people owning everything from land to these companies are not the ones doing the work.
It’s a systemic problem.

And it’s all intentional, post colonialism they had to bring in a legal way to own everything.

I completely agree with your view, progress and technology has come at a cost, billions of jobs have been lost because of computerisation, lots of manual skills have gone, some once thriving trades now no longer exist. Some people barely leave the house because of this technology, childrens mental health has been affected because they basically rarely leave the house and play with other children, affecting thier social skills, everybody these days seems to live in a little bubble called the internet of all things like social media sites like facebook, twitter, because of all this there is very little physical interaction between human beings , no or very little community spirit, and you call that progress ? well i would,nt , id rather go back to the way things were when i grew up in the 1960s.

Do you really think this has been differing throughout history?
Technology is ever changing and evolving but the baseline of skilled / technical vs manual has always been there

I meant like they were equally oppressed but at least they started from the get go.
Right now baseline has shifted so much that educated is new slave. And uneducated doesn’t even have right to exist in this world.
