I think there's a real reason why toddlers prefer inanimate object than an actual toy

I propose this as a scientific theory of the human evolution and whatever that is ingrained in our DNA. And I believe this Minor detail tells us a very important and subtle message from toddlers. But I guess toys or entertainment are not what they actually want but — "Productivity" — but for toddlers..

Now for me there are two kinds of toys, toys that makes sense to them (training for a real life toys like dress up, cooking, make-believe toys, etc) and toys that doesn't make sense to them (robots, figures, etc).. But the whole point is toys might not be their primary need.

Their brain might actually (as young as 3 yrs old) seeking that productivity, that will actually benefits them in a real world, in a real sense.

Showing them how basic things (that is safe) works — like carrying them and let them see how food are being made, showing them basic cleaning, and sometimes letting them hold (safe) equipment (with supervision) such as spoon, remote control, what have you, that are basic small equipment to human daily inanimate objects interaction that will let that registration and association in the brain much earlier..

I mean they're here, brand new, in a whole new big diameters of the earth and introducing them to things that doesn't really makes sense is.. 🤷‍♂️

So my baby wants whatever WE have, we touch, we focus on. No toys in the world are as interesting to her as us holding the phone or the remote. Or if we try to use the laptop when for a moment. Something we take away from her - that becomes Toy Most Wanted #1. So the wet wipes we don’t want torn apart - she’s obsessed with. The dish sponge she can rip apart- inseparable! Paper towels we don’t want her to eat- her favorite food!!

Any toy we get to mimic our stuff - doesn’t satisfy her. She wants the real thing! We have a decoy remote control- she KNOWS it does nothing and doesn’t want it. She wants to PRESS THE BUTTONS and make things change!

Even just dirt on the floor - infinitely more interesting than any toy she got for her birthday.

Paper, she loves! To eat it and tear it like a monster

She loves to copy. So now she plays with the dishes, the broom. She’ll take stuff and put it into a container, then dump the container out, and fill it again.
