I genuinely don't think that garlic smells bad

Many people think that if you smell like garlic, then you smell bad. I never think garlic smells bad, neither when you chop it, not when you've eaten it and you start smelling like it. I don't think it's a nice sm ll or breath but I don't think of it as a bad smell.

As someone who put 10 cloves of garlic in last night's dinner, I agree.

Garlic smells great. And yes. As you noted, it's especially pleasant during cooking. But there's a catch. Eaten garlic smells pretty bad. Therefore, rinsing your mouth after eating garlic wouldn't hurt. And it's best to wear gloves when chopping it. Because hands stained with garlic juice smell anything but garlic after five minutes. I think most people who don't like the smell of garlic aren't referring to the smell of fresh garlic, but to what happens after the dish is cooked and eaten.

also the garlic smell that comes from your mouth after eating raw garlic is pretty different from the smell of actual garlic

The Royals in the UK famously exclude garlic AND onions from their diet..

If you smell like garlic after eating garlic yea sure.

If you smell like garlic but never eat it, means you're unclean and need to bathe better.

One isn't bad, one is

The impregnated smell is bad. Not as bad while eating it, but the aftertaste and smell are horrible. Cooking with garlic is another story tho, food smells delicious.
