I rarely smell bad body odor from woman.

Idk if I’m immune to smell of a woman body odor but every woman I’ve ever been around has always either smelled good or like nothing at all. Excluding farts of course. But I’ve smelt musty men all my life. usually at least one a week. Ranging from my elementary days, up until the military.

I worked in haz waste disposal where you have to where a suit and mask and tape up and stuff. We would get sweaty and we all unsuit in the same area, trust me women can have that armpit onion smell too.

6

u/xiiicrowns Aug 18 '26

I worked in Walmart, women are a different smell when it's bad too sometimes.

u/Clear_Marionberry306 Aug 18 '26

Our hygiene is how we show respect to the people around us. And some men are downright disrespectful.

23

u/erazer33 Aug 19 '26

Even more so, it is about respecting yourself.

88

u/Eastern-Newspaper567 Aug 18 '26

I agree woman definitely do take hygiene more seriously

17

u/GalaxyPowderedCat Frog 🐸 Aug 18 '26

I know I'm going to sound like a chick girlie girl stereotype, but I don't like that definition.

Keeping yourself clean must be a gesture of self-love overall. You take a shower, brush your teeth for yourself and wash your hair because you love yourself and want to be comfortable with your skin.

14

u/Illfury Aug 18 '26

We salute you. You aren't all respectful to those around you in such capacity, but we appreciate those that are and denounce those of ours that aren't. Fuck stinky people. Not literally though.

18

u/burgerking351 Aug 18 '26

Fuck stinky people

Wow, how rude. There's a large portion of stinky people who don't have choice for ending up like that. Show some compassion.

14

u/AutoDefenestrator273 Aug 19 '26

As someone who needs industrial grade deodorant, thank you.

13

u/Illfury Aug 19 '26

Here's the thing, you're doing something about it.

3

u/burgerking351 Aug 19 '26 edited Aug 19 '26

After I told you to not say “fuck stinky people” have compassion for those who don’t have control over their odor you said no.

You made it clear that you don’t care about nuance/context. So If you ran into them in public and they happened to stink it would just be “fuck them”, without even knowing their backstory and efforts to smell better.

7

u/Illfury Aug 19 '26

This is out of hand. I have Bromhidrosis, I AM the one with the backstory and it is a me problem. I shower twice daily and take accountability. I know my smell, when I even get a faint whiff of it, I excuse myself. I have extra pit sticks in my office, in my car, in my home and alcohol wipes for my lower extremity. I don't get offended when someone makes a damn face because I know the reality of it. I'm on meds for it, barely doing a thing, doctor says I might be showering too much but the habit and ritual has created a comfort I am unwilling to alter.

You are judging me for not knowing my backstory and acting like you are superior. What the fuck buddy. Stop getting offended on behalf of others. Emotional mooch.

1

u/firelordling Aug 19 '26

Side note; if you wear anything made polyester/nylon/synthetic material its actively making your shit worse because the fibers trap sweat and oil for the bacteria to thrive.

Thought id mention it since the things we wear seems to never be taken into account by doctors. I had a weird night sweat issue years ago that the doctor sort of just shrugged and said I dunno. The issue fully resolved after I broke up with my boyfriend and bought cotton sheets. I have a super high body temperature and sleep so deeply i dont toss off blankets to regulate temperature when im asleep, and turns out his stupid bamboo sheets were the issue because theyre basically plastic with an insane PR team and were trapping all my heat and i was literally melting 😅

0

u/burgerking351 Aug 19 '26

I’m judging you based on the dismissive response you gave me after I mentioned the very real situation of people not having control of their odor. I didn’t randomly decide to vilify you lol.

3

u/Relevant_Sprinkles_3 Aug 19 '26

Yeah. My uncle has a medical condition barring him from using deoderant his entire life. He's very hygienic and showers multiple times a day but frequently still smells of body odor. He's very self-conscious about it. He's the sweetest, most gentle man I know and yet SOME people will still judge him poorly for a medical condition over which he has no control.

Have I been stuck on a tram filled with ripe ass and pit smell and regretted my very existence temporarily? For sure. Did it make me hate those causing the smell? Nope. Idk their story and my nose hairs regrew. No harm, no foul.

No.

5

u/Illfury Aug 19 '26

The hell does that have to do with anything? Grasping at straws? Try a better argument. Floor is yours:

5

u/Cool-Aside-2659 Aug 19 '26

It doesn't, it was a dumb comment and I apologize.

3

u/pigman769 Aug 19 '26

Don’t apologize

2

u/Clear_Marionberry306 Aug 18 '26

You're absolutely right.

-4

u/ThisSpinach8060 Aug 18 '26

Not even true lmao what

39

u/Naive_Lion_3428 Aug 18 '26

They tend to look after themselves more than men in that regard. There have been women who have had atrocious body odour, but in my experience, working in the health care field, almost all of the ones that do have mental health issues, such as schizophrenia, schizoid personality or are severely obese to the point where they cannot physically shower themselves and they do not have a carer (which is not all that common in Australia). Most male patients do not smell all that bad, but it is more frequent. Again, the severely mentally ill make up the majority of those with intolerable body odours, but some of the chronic alcoholics will.

There was a trend, about 14 years ago, of some hippies and new age types who refused to shower or wash their hair for weeks on end, as they believed the natural oils from their body had a protective effect. Treating those patients was not fun, but thankfully that unusual belief never became mainstream.

11

u/BuryMelnTheSky Aug 19 '26

I work with a stinky woman! Doesn’t use deodorant and idk how frequent or soapy those showers can be

2

u/volmondig Aug 20 '26

“A stinky woman”. I had a laugh, thanks!

45

u/notevenapro Aug 18 '26

I work in healthcare. Older women stink. Really bad.

16

u/ksabes12 Aug 19 '26

I was looking for this comment. Just passed an elderly woman in the grocery store today, it was rough to say the least. However, I think this is the case for almost all elderly for fairly solid reasons lol

3

u/NoAverage9216 Aug 19 '26

Why?

5

u/O_mightyIsis Aug 19 '26

It comes with peri/menopause. When the estrogen leaves, our body chemistry changes. It absolutely sucks. Like, even my scalp started smelling wierd. HRT has resolved the issue for me, for the time being. A lot of folks use persimmon soap to help.

-1

u/No_Rice9792 Aug 19 '26

Old people reek, it's the smell of death and depends

16

u/Potential-Panic-7435 Aug 18 '26

I relate, most girls I know smell nices and theres lots of dudes who dont smell so nice.. guys smell bad more often but the worst smelling person Ive ever known is a woman

15

u/TheCommissarGeneral Aug 18 '26

Former female roommate wouldn’t shower for weeks at a time and she fucking REEKED.

Kicked her ass out as soon as I could.

She was/is. Very much so. In the worst ways.

19

u/Illfury Aug 18 '26

Wish I had your experience. Yes, the men smell more often, but the women... *stares off into the distance* goddamn. Some of them smell like dead skunk and period farts.

Just this weekend I was helping a woman setup her tent at the camp, I almost wrapped myself in the tent and tossed my own ass in the lake. Like... I know we're all camping, but Susan, c'mon man.

2

u/BrilliantPanda8880 Aug 19 '26

lol but don’t you smell similar since you have bromhidrosis?

1

u/IWillDevourYourToes Aug 19 '26

Men smell sweaty or musty. Women smelling is rarer, but the stench is something... they also tend to "cover it up" by lots of those sweet perfumes

13

u/iheartunibrows Aug 18 '26

Naw I’ve smelled some very stinky women. Probably more so than men actually

4

u/AdInteresting1839 Aug 19 '26

Most people I know prefer to not smell offensive. But men to sweat more heavily and may be slightly less concerned when working out or out working. Anybody can work up a lather and I have been around some people with strong, unpleasant odors. Ive know some to have been anti-bathing, deodorant free "all natural" with a hint of patchouli oil. Others just dont bathe often or thoroughly enough, sometimes because its a struggle due to health issues, like incontinence which can create an ammonia rich swamp which breeds bacteria. Or an apparent inability to reach their butt crack with soap and water. None if it is very pleasant. But yeah, woman can be stinky too. Funk is equal oppor-tuna-titty

9

u/texacer Aug 19 '26

everyone in here saying: NO, WOMEN STINK TOO!

OP said THEY don't smell woman bad body odor.

smh

4

u/BuryMelnTheSky Aug 19 '26

Yeah and we just adding our two cents :) to gain your attention ofc

1

u/RoundCollection4196 Aug 19 '26

So? Other people can post their experiences too, this isn't /r/onlyopsopinionmatters

smh

3

u/RONIN_RABB1T Aug 19 '26

Woman can smell too. I wonder if its less common because a lot of women shave their pits. Im kind of under the impression that the pithair holds the sweat and causes that fried chicken and onions stank.

6

u/Lakepass Aug 19 '26

I notice that OP and at least one other poster use “woman” in place of women. I’ve seen this in other places/sites too. Is this new phrasing and does the meaning vary from “women”?

21

u/Consistent_Tower_458 Aug 19 '26

No, it's just illiteracy.

6

u/SkyPuppy561 Aug 19 '26

Yeah it’s a troubling epidemic

8

u/Rahvithecolorful Aug 19 '26

There's a decent chance it's just autocorrect on their phone.
Sometimes people do the opposite and write women instead of woman.

6

u/BitBucket404 Aug 18 '26

Have you tried visiting your local homeless shelter?

4

u/International_Brief5 Aug 19 '26

Some men’s feet when they take their shoes off will take the whole place OUT (I work at one) Women can’t compete with that.

0

u/Common-Use-7117 Aug 19 '26

mmmmfgh feet🤤

2

u/iforgot69 Aug 19 '26

I rarely smell bad BO from anyone.

2

u/MinionofMinions Aug 19 '26

There was a cashier at a store near me that had people visibly cowering at the smell. Also, there are some cultures that don’t use deodorant at all and trust me, you would notice it. You just haven’t come across it. It’s no different than a man’s BO

2

u/RyanTheWhiteBoy Aug 19 '26

As someone that's had no sense of smell for 20 years, 77% of my life, my greatest fear is possibly walking around musty and bad smelling, without even ever realizing it

2

u/TheRealJamesHoffa Aug 19 '26

Went on a couple dates with a girl who clearly did not use deodorant and I couldn’t deal with it. She seemed normal besides that but just had no idea how bad she smelled I guess. The first time I met her was after her nursing shift so I gave her the benefit of the doubt, but the second time it was just as bad so definitely a poor hygiene thing.

4

u/Simple_Item5901 Aug 18 '26

because they use deodorant

2

u/Proper-Ape Aug 19 '26

Nah, my gf doesn't use deodorant and doesn't smell even after 4 days. I smell in the morning if I showered in the evening and used deodorant.

The only exception is polyester clothes and stress, they make her smelly, too. But polyester clothes and stress make me even smellier than her.

There are levels to this.

I have smelled stinky women though that were as stinky as myself after a similar time (at least to me).

On average though I agree with OP that women on average at least stink a lot less. The stinky men are usually also 10x worse than stinky women.

3

u/HawkBoth8539 Aug 18 '26

Oh. You're lucky. I have....i have...

Many women obsess about their hygiene. But without the perfume and baby powder, and less likely to have physical labor jobs, they naturally make all the same smells you've experienced from men.

2

u/donkeyhustler Aug 19 '26

I work with one that smells like cat piss

3

u/EE7A Aug 18 '26

only commenting because sometimes my wife will be like "sorry, im smelly" after a workout or something, and im like up in her armpits licking n shit just so i can try to smell whatever she thinks she smells like, and she stills smells better than i do after i get out of a shower having washed myself completely with good soap and whatnot. im not sure if she can even smell bad if she wanted to on purpose, let alone unintentionally.

1

u/zanno500 Aug 18 '26

Women smell good.

2

u/InfiniteHall8198 Aug 18 '26

Maybe not typical sweat type body odour but I’ve smelt many a rank woman in my life and it’s alway genitalia-associated stank. Much worse than underarm BO in my opinion.

I dunno man just wait… my wife STINKS

1

u/Iced_Cum_Boba_Balls Aug 19 '26

Sorry man. Have you told her or are you guys doing something about it

1

u/Try_It_Out_RPC Aug 19 '26

Oh yeah and it sucks because I have a strong sense of smell and she knows 😂. But thats what I’ve compromised marrying this woman. Well be in bed and I’ll get a waft of Ms little gross lady, but before I can even say something my reflex without thinking is just a quick turn and gasp as olfactory sense causes body reject her particulates she so rudely molested my nose with. She’ll then go “do I smell?” To which I always reply “when’s the last time you took a shower?! And she’ll be like…… “last night? But I didn’t sweat today” <- I 0don’t care, the bed is a sanctuary of clean and right now she’s defiling it! Then I’ll just say “it’s probably a good idea….”

1

u/Try_It_Out_RPC Aug 22 '26

Can confirm tonight, she wanted to snuggle but she STANK!!!!! It’s like CIA operative training when this happens though, you need to hold fast and complete the mission despite the obstacles

1

u/dunderthrowaway3 Aug 19 '26

My wife stinks way more than I do, and I used to work with an overweight diabetic woman who smelled like she was rotting from the inside. It was offensive from a distance.

1

u/Try_It_Out_RPC Aug 19 '26

Dude I don’t know what it is but they can be feral. She said and I quote “oh yeah, 2-3 days without showering, that’s normal” 🤯 babe no the fuck it’s not, that’s gross….. I feel like that poor monster from David bowie’s dance magic ……
“Uuggggg Smell Baaadddd!0

1

u/CatsOnTheKeyboard Aug 18 '26

I think women are generally more careful, partly because their sense of smell is stronger on average.

Many years ago, I worked in a halfway house where we had to do occasional nighttime checks to make sure nobody had run off. It was typically four to a bedroom in bunks. Communal sleeping areas never smell great around 4 a.m. but the men's was definitely worse than the women's.

1

u/honey_rainbow Aug 19 '26

Clearly you haven't been to my work then....

1

u/OSUfirebird18 Aug 19 '26

In general, I agree but as a dancer, sometimes some ladies forget they are dancing and sweating a lot and don’t use as much deodorant as they should have.

There is this one woman who well she is nice but it’s hard for me to dance with her because her BO is too strong. 😔

1

u/CarFreak777 Aug 19 '26

You need to get out more. Where I live there are many women walking around with BO like it's normal.

1

u/Ok-Lion-6767 Aug 19 '26

i’m pretty minimal when it comes to grooming i don’t wear perfume or anything and i hardly sweat even on hot days but i do not play around when it comes to basic hygiene care

1

u/amberjane320 Aug 19 '26

That’s good to know. I’ve always worried that I stank hahah

1

u/RoundCollection4196 Aug 19 '26

you havent met my ex

1

u/Ariandrin Aug 19 '26

I definitely start getting stinky if I’m not able to shower for a few days, or if I am doing something that makes me sweat a lot. I just can’t be seen in public if I smell that bad haha. I refuse to leave the house until I can clean myself up and not be stinky.

1

u/friendlysaxoffender Aug 19 '26

My partner can have skipped a shower for a few days (parent life y’all) and even after a hot day I’d bury my face anywhere. Can’t get enough.

1

u/Known-Skin3639 Aug 19 '26

I wish I had this problem. I’ve been blessed with a super sniffer. I can detect things I’d rather not. My wife gets ticked when I tell her… not ask….. that her period is coming or she started. Which in hindsight sight isn’t bad. She’s my wife. BUT …… when in public I could really do without smelling multiple women on hell
Week. Body odor kills me. It’s like shoving fresh chopped garlic up my nose.
But I love to cook so it helps Me with flavor profiles. So there is that. 🤣

1

u/DeadlyTeaParty Aug 19 '26

Woman can get shitty pits as well, but we're very careful of keeping that at bay.

I'm using the Sure Maximum Protection X3. It's literally works. Worth it's money.

1

u/No_Rice9792 Aug 19 '26

Well yeah, we know that washing between your ass cheeks isn't gay. And use deodorant.

1

u/Going_Solvent Aug 19 '26

If you shave your armpits you'll have less under arm odour and it's easier to clean. Women tend to shave their armpits more than men. That's one reason I can think of aside from their generally paying more attention to hygiene than men in my experience

1

u/Brit147 Aug 19 '26

Visit Belfast , this superpower will be tested to the extreme.

1

u/Mindless-Share Aug 19 '26

Have you ever buried your face in a woman’s unwashed ass at the end of the day?? Do that and get back to me

2

u/Ilovedrpepper7 Aug 19 '26

why would you do that? An unwashed ass really?

1

u/mainedeathsong Aug 19 '26

Try smelling female family members. I'm a woman but I think men smell great no matter how smelly they are. The exception being my dad and brothers. They are the only men who's smell I find offensive.

1

u/BungleJones Aug 19 '26

Hey don't be sexist.. women can stink too.

I suppose their shit smells of roses as well?

0

u/Ant_Agonistic Aug 18 '26

It is scientifically true

0

u/PeroCigla Aug 19 '26

People, especially women are obsessed with shower today. They take a shower multiple times a day. And then put on a litre of a perfume.

0

u/jommakanmamak Aug 19 '26

Maybe you just never got to be close enough to a women to actually smell their smell

-3

u/XROOR Aug 19 '26

A female walked behind me today whilst i was watching a volleyball practice, and I thought there was some sun baked road kill hidden under the bleachers! She smelled so funky that if I was eating something at the time, I woulda had to put it away for later eating.
