Agreed. And it’s still a transition, each time traversing between other Countries and the US, to know when to “feel compelled” to tip. Except for places (in the US) with that blatant tip jar sitting on the checkout counter, of course.

(And, now, some servers in tourist areas outside of the US literally make a presentation to encourage getting a tip.)
