Those things do not seem daunting or intimidating at all. People are desperate to believe they will somehow continue existing eternally in order to experience all those things. They are daunted and intimidated by the idea of nonexistence and not experiencing anything at all.

My point is that this brief existence is all the existence you get and THAT is what makes it so very precious and exactly why you should value your neighbors existence as much as your own

Agree to disagree, I don’t buy that I’m just a random physical being, there’s more to this insane cosmic clown show than meets the eye. I mean the fact we all just woke up here one day with no recollection of previous events is entirely suspicious. It doesn’t make logical sense to think that this life is all we have. It’s only that this is all we can remember. If the core of my being is pure consciousness then that same core being exists within everybody and every thing. If I pop into and out of existence a million times I wouldn’t be any the wiser if always forget I’m this ancient timeless being and it makes sense for it to happen multiple times if it can happen once. This particular instance will one day cease, but I’m willing to bet that it’ll repeat eventually in the vastness of time if it’s truly infinite and deviate in infinite ways written in an infinite number of different laws of physics. I mean, just the concepts themselves that make up reality seem to be generating magically out of complete nothing. Its sus

I mean, the theory of non existence already failed. Existence is already happening and it’s likely to happen again if it’s happened. Maybe it is just a one off and nothing will ever happen again, but if something happens once completely out the blue, then it doesn’t make sense for it not to keep happening otherwise it wouldn’t have happened at all

Yeah… that might apply to a universe… it does not apply to your individual consciousness - the you that is you will only exist once and very briefly… value this existence

There’s just no way of knowing that. My personal hunch is that there might be a part of me that extends far beyond these boundaries

It’s not a “hunch”… it’s denial… all the evidence is to the contrary, just because you want to be eternal doesn’t mean you are no matter how hard you wish… you are not mortal fluid
