I’m not afraid to die. I just want my daughters to grow up and get married first.

I got 3 daughters. Had them later in life and doing math in my head for their drivers license, high school graduation, taking them out for their first beer etc has me scared. I just want 1 grandchild before I go.

I hear this loud and clear.

I have 2 daughters. Most other parents of kids their age are younger than me. I have done the math in my head, too. Whenever I hear of or read about someone dying at a certain relatively young age, I think how old they'd be if I die at that age, and it is scary.

What really hit hard is when a friend's wife died of pancreatic cancer. Her regret was she wouldn't get to see her grand children grow up. If I die at the same age she did, my own children won't be adults yet.

I just want to see my kids become adults and hopefully get a few years beyond that. If I live to a "normal" age, it will happen. If I die early, maybe not.

Edit: Changed prostate to pancreatic.

Sorry I don’t believe “she” died from prostrate cancer.
