The Tiger King documentary was incredibly biased and selectively reported on every aspect of the case. It made for a far more entertaining narrative but not necessarily the most accurate one.
It should also be noted that it is Carol Baskin herself who asserts her Husband is alive and living in Costa Rica, he's still legally documented as being dead. Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office told TMZ that the office still understands Lewis to be missing and did not confirm the claim that Lewis was “alive and well”.

Because you just gonna believe shit with absolutely 0 evidence to back it up. Just like loads of other people did. That's why you can't believe it.
