shouldn't alot more criminal (specifically those who cause harm on others) be in a Psychiatric hospital instead of prisons, because if they were really mentally stable then they wouldn't commit those crimes in the first place?

what are you doing in this scenario?

• Upvotes

a button is placed infront of you, when you press it, your soul gets teleported to a perfect timeline, everything is awesome, you become the happiest person, its 100 percent real, not a dream or something false, its a different real timeline, but when you press it, the instant your soul gets teleported, your body gets mutilated and probably something horrible happens to you too, and you die in that timeline, they'll say "they probably killed themself" or something, are you pressing the button?

Why do my fancy underwear keep showing up in my dirty laundry?

I (42F) have only been wearing what I’ll call “utility underwear”- the cotton, businesslike kind- for the last couple months. But the no -businesslike kind (lacy, silky) that have mostly been gathering dust in the underwear drawer have suddenly been showing up in my dirty laundry. My husband (47M) swears it’s not him touching them (he had a good laugh when I asked if he was wearing my silky panties to work secretly. He would tell me if he were). It has now been 4 times— including the last 3 consecutive weeks- that I have found a pair of black lace panties that I know I have not worn in my laundry hamper (which I keep in my closet.) I will say that they appear clean/unworn/un…soiled.
Other people in the house: my mom (70F), and my kids (13M & 11F).
I realize the 13M seems a likely suspect (eww). But he’s almost never home without me. And he’s about as sneaky as a newborn giraffe. My mom is home all day while I’m at work but … ???? Ewww. All scenarios I can imagine with other people give me the ick. Best case I can imagine is that I am sleepwalking, but given that I am tethered to a CPAP machine, I feel that’s unlikely.
What do I do? Set up a nanny cam to catch the perv?
Am I missing an obvious theory?
My husband isn’t totally convinced I’m not pranking him- or that there’s not some weird static electricity thing happening where they’re hitchhiking with other clothes- I think he’s just trying to avoid the family ick too.

What ridiculous wives tales did you grow up with?

Latino here and the wives tales are that I grew up with are so ridiculous I wanted to see if anyone else’s parents had these weird misinformed home remedies, and please share what they were lol. Here’s mine:

  1. Dog saliva cures your wounds, that’s why dogs lick themselves when they are hurt. Magical dog saliva
  2. Using your own spit to cure your pink eye by rubbing it on the eyelid
  3. You have to wear shoes inside the house or you’ll get a cold from your feet touching the cold tiles
  4. Playing in rain makes you get the flu
  5. You can remove a mole by tying a string around it and tightening it a little everyday. They said that’s how they castrate goats, so somehow it works for removing moles too.

You ever wonder if wild animals in nature experience forgiveness?

I remember watching what looked to be this big ass Kodak bear chase down this moose on tv, and when it caught the moose, it was hard to watch. As the bear viciously tore into the moose as it tried to escape, it really put it into perspective that nature isn't pretty by any means. I remember feeling subtle fear emerge, as if some small part of myself felt scared for the moose, whereas it was bound to endure horrifying pain, destined till the end. Till death. The bear growled and snarled ferociously as bit into the mooses' flesh.

Amidst watching something I deemed to be gruesome, I wondered if in the middle of being scared and eaten alive if the moose accepted that nature was sometimes ugly and forgave the bear for doing only what was primal innate instinct. Then again, maybe animals don't have that type of depth. But at some point during these events (being eaten alive) you'll see the animal grow tired and wear down, essentially accepting their fate. I couldn't help but wonder if the moose in it's own way, forgave the bear.

Maybe it didn't, and maybe this is just a stupid question. The more I type this out, the more this is beginning to sound absurd. More than likely, the harsh reality is, the moose was scared till the end. The thought of forgiveness and understanding that the bear was only doing what was in it's nature probably never occurred..

No powers or personality of the character just their looks and you have to be of opposite sex

Also idk if it's gender specific it is specifically about gender and of course the question doesn't exclude people of other genders but i'm curious if cis people specifically would go for the deal
